2003/4 Giant TCR build - Design ideas needed !!

Ok everyone I am about to start a build project and need help with the design etc. I have purchased (really almost a giveaway - thx Francois from Manic Cycles: Worcester) an old but good condition 2003/2004 Giant TCR carbon frame. Will collect this week and the plans/questions are the following:

1) Frame Respray- where in Cape Town, and if not then at Cycle Art but how do I get it back from them ?

2) Color scheme/design - I need help here. Will post low quality pic of complete bike now but of frame only, when I get it on Monday. Please help and submit designs on hub for comments etc

3) Components - possibly looking at transfering some components from BMC SL01 and then selling that frame or using it as training bike. So the TCR will be built as a lighter weight racing bike (I subscribe to the adage that: Even if you aren't fast, it doesn't mean you can't look fastLOL - I need this to be able to attend BMC Fan's Hub rides!!!LOL ) - that's the idea for now.

I will keep the thread updated as we go along but please help with ideas etc.

P.S. There is a special hijack thread available for those who are that way inclined so please use that thread if you feel the urge ....Wink

Basic, old pic first - remember I just have the frame like in the pic(better frame pic to follow soon):

Thx Fanie - will be taking most of the components from the BMC though but need help on the paint & design first. There may be some special components though! Wink

(Also for anyone interested, now would be the right time to start bidding on the BMC frame - send pm offers if interested (don't want to hijack my own thread !!!LOL

hey' date=' jy moet 'n draai by Mark Rich in Strand gaan maak. Hy het moerse baie components en stuff vir baie cheap. [/quote']

I just bought a frame from Mark, and he told me he also sprays frames. I just can't comment on the works he does because i haven't seen any of his spray jobs.

You can also try Pure Art in Cape Town, they have done some bikes as well: http://www.pureart.co.za/

Thx velo, will enquire from both. Also saw a custom steel bike that CFS ahd sprayed somewhere in CT for a client. Will find out as well.

Question - where can I get decals made or buy factory decals?

quite like this - simple but effective. would need to reduce some of the decal sizes and no of decals, though and don't know if this would lose the effect: The aim would be to eventually shortlist designs and run a poll to vote:

Ok, so I think I've found a good spraypainter who also does custom cycle frame work. Will collect frame and meet tomorrow.

Please post those design ideas ASAP as I need to make a choice tonight !!
