Poor brake performance on front brake

My ancient RC6000 has 105 9sp era brakes and the front is vicious. Never had to touch it and still on the same second hand pads it had when I bought it. Road bikes would have killed the cycling industry had carbon and MTB not arrived on the scene. 🙂

Swop the calipers between the 2 bikes if the levers and everything else are compatible?

It's not the calipers, even Shimano Sora are pretty good. I had problems once with Tektro on a new road bike, not stopping properly. Tried everything, nothing worked. Eventually changed to 105 calipers, problem solved.
