Quick release on seatpost (MTB)

You can slide the lever to the back of the post but that's terribly ugly.



If I understand you correctly' date=' you mean rotating the whole clamp so the lever sits at the back...?

This would mean that the slot on the clamp and the one in the frame are not aligned. Not sure if this is a good idea. I would think that for the clamp to hold properly they need to be aligned as those slots need to close to some degree. If they're not aligned I suspect the clamp won't be able to tighten as much as is possible and this might actually cause slippage.

At least that's how I see it.

Besides that, the levers that I've seen are generally not very small and in most cases actually protrude even more when turned sideways....depends on the make of course

the giant one on my trance is machined quite nicely to follow the profile of the whole unit. it tucks away quite neatly, but on the downside can take some work to release?

One reason against having a quick release for a seat post is that for some people(not many), the release lever will rub against their leg.

and then go over the back of the saddle in a rythm section straight onto the lever, ouchDead

Ok, now you just need to keep track what lever brakes the front wheel, brakes the rear wheel, shift the front derailer, shifts the rear derailer, locks out the fork, locks out the rear shock and changes the seat hight.

 

Hopefully there is still space for grips on the handelbar after you installed the hartrate monitor, GPS and Speedo LOL

get a garmin 305 - does all three. and only sissies use brakes and lockout.

nope, they've borrowed from mavic e-skewer technology and the dynamo is now located in the hub.

nope, just superior knowledge of when to slow down and then using the counterweight technique by applying resistance when the crank is on its upstroke.

 

ps, my grandmum would turn in her grave if i used that saddle.
