Loose Thule Platform Bike Carrier Arm

I have a three-bike Thule platform bike carrier.

The longest of the three swing arms has become very loose over time, and I was wondering if there's a way to tighten it up.

Is it at the point where the swingarm connects to the carrier or the bike itself?

My swingarm clamps have worn away the bar on the bike carrier -causing a lot of lateral play/movement. 

The tightening knobs on the other end also love stripping their screws inside from constant tightening and loosening - bit it's easily remedied by just opening them and replacing the little hex nut inside with one from a hardware store. Go to Thule and they will want to sell you a whole new arm instead.

It's loose where the arm connects to the horizontal bar of the carrier.

That is a non spare from Thule and requires a new arm. What you could try is wrap Gorilla tape on the bar at the point where it clamps or melt some cable ties into the clamp with a solder iron and file it out so it fits tight again
