Can anyone shed some light on the type of racing i.e. XCO or Trial and the distances per age group? Asking so we can see if our boys would be fit enough for this series.

From what has been shared, it's looks amazing

You need to SEE this ... :)

There is the odd born racer that shoots out front.  Then the rest ... some can ride level, some can do a bit of single track (very easy tracks), some can shift gears .... it is a lot of FUN.

And yes, if your kids have been doing some trails with you, they will be in front of the rest quick enough.

ENJOY

Thats pretty much only the entry portal.

There is a committee that does all organization, in conjunction with the schools.

@jokerman I can add you to the whatsapp group for Gauteng if you are interested.

Does the school in which your kids are participate on the school series?

Also keep in mind: The XCO/XCC races have much lower entry numbers vs the school series. Roughly 20 in XCO vs >100 in school.

Hi there,

I'm still slightly confused about all the events and categories available...and which ones is which :) lol !!!!

Yes please !!!! I'm interested in the Gauteng region.

I dont think the school participates at yet, as it's fairly new and small BUT I'd like to find out what is needed and assist them in getting registered for it.

Thanking you in advance

Registering the school is quick and painless.  One or two emails, and something like R500 school affiliation fee.

Where things do get more interesting ...

1. The school must approve of this  (if this is going to affect their number of rugby players expecttsome effort .... I kid you not)

2. CSA -Schools require a "school representative" .... in some cases this is a "parent representative" for the school.  This is the ONE contact from the organisers to the school, so this person becomes the contact point to get the details of the upcoming events to the school and other parents.

My experience in the Western Cape was very positive with CSA Schools.  They WANT more kids.  So they guide you through the process.  Things almost went sideways at the school when the cycling impacted the rugby selection ...

WELL WORTH IT !!
