Race week! Not much to be done fitness wise so time for weather and route watching. My first real gravel race on a gravel bike. Gonna hurt for sure! I see they predicted the 145km race winner in 3:55!! Joh!

It looks like we might miss the cold front that will come in on monday. Actually a little warmer morning on sunday which I am VERY gratefull for. Hopefully the wind dont  blow too much.

Been riding the roads the past month on the gravel bike. It felt really good but today it suddenly felt as if it got very harsh very quickly. Hopefully it was just in my head. I saw some roads got grated today and really hope they will get to the main one going past venterskroon as well before the weekend. Dont know if you have info @Scary Rider?

Nervously excited for this one.

Ditto, also first real gravel race on a gravel bike. Also nervously excited.

I aim for a somewhat more doable time that sub 4. Sub something, no quite sure what exactly.

Fitness is what it is, I've been building at it incrementally from nothing at the start of the year (and @NotSoBigBen / @Cyclewizz I am NOT sandbagging! You know where to check and confirm how much of nothing I did last year!)

Will see what will happen on race day (or do we refer to race day as sugar eating day these days?)

Earlier this week EpicRideWeather predicted we'll have a head wind on the second half, but with all the valleys, etc in this area it generally feel like you always have a head wind.

PS I see it currently predicts a crosswind for the day

So...I consulted with various people living in the Koepel, and got an answer from the horses mouth: @Attie Koekemoer confirmed this afternoon that the roads haven't been better in years 'n years.

So, gravel bike for the win ( no pun😊) .

My gravelbike is still in Pta, so duallie it will be for me. See you all on Sunday!

Thanks, got mine as well. Although I'm in Open according to the SMS and not vets 40-49 where I entered. Anyone have contact details? Can't see anything on the site.

Think your best bet to sort it out will be at registration.
