KTM or Silverback

Hi all. I'm not a cyclist, but am looking at buying a bike for my son to get around Stellenboch University campus. I have found both a Silverback Phoenix 27.5" and a KTM Ultra 29" for similar prices. Does one have any obvious advantages over the other? Thanks in advance.

KTm is bust as far as I know, or is it only the motor bikes, then stick with Silverback

When it comes to a second hand bicycle, that is a moot point.

The KTM bicycle is decent spec. I had an older version of one a few years ago. Solid bike for commuting

Is it definitely the one in the link with the Deore M6100 groupset? Do you have a photo of the actual bike?
 

They are such different bikes so I’m trying to understand the similar price point. The Phoenix is circa 2010 I think so I can’t understand how a 2022 KTM is lining up.
