Were we not all once the hours old profile making an offer on something, or trying to sell something? I mean im only a few weeks old here, and i initially only registered to make an offer on something

SO true !

Sure, there is a measure of safety when dealing with somebody that has been around a long time and has many positive reviews.

But even they started out new ....

Bought a bike fork 2 weeks ago from a gent that registered purely to sell this one item.  Must admit I looked at the address and thought it is a safe area, THUS I will give it a try .... turns out he is one very nice guy !

As much as we have to be careful, a "new account" is probably not the key decider ... though it does make one look more carefully at the rest of the signs ....

Anyone else experiencing this?

yesterday, I got contacted on the Hub by 3 profiles;

Asking if an item was available

and 2 were Bikehub offers at half my asking

Anyone else notice this new trend?

The interwebs have zoned in on your profile, you should be pleased with the traffic that comes your way. Handling secondhand goods comes with all offers, big and small. Your Idea of value verses my mine will differ. To say it’s a trend… is a tad strong. Most good Hubbers I’ve dealt with,  have been highly negotiable and willing to take cash!

Couple guys here have some sort of itch to scratch. Pity I can’t remember. They’re probably behind the fake accounts.

I was actually referring to low ball offers from brand new profiles specifically.
A 4 hour old profile offering half price on  a Garmin watch or Colnago bike.

On the other hand, I've been on here for 19 years and people don't even reposnd to messages relating to ads. Whats the point of advertising?
