Please help with Giant charger

Can anybody please explain why the Giant ebike chargers break so easily (2 faulty charges in 1 family) and then the replacement chargers are nowhere to be bought in SA? All Giant distributors are saying currently some customers have already been waiting more than 4 months! Is there any type of generic chargers available or perhaps the original charger where they are actually available? I've reached out to a few people who's had their Giant ebikes stolen hoping to buy off them but no luck so far. Its the energypak 500 with 3 pin. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not perhaps considering going with a generic charger, seeing that the Giant one seems to be not that reliable? 

A quick Google search brings up this company that seems to specialise in generic chargers for amongst others, e-bikes.

Thanks for your reply. I've read up on the generic ones and am quite scared to damage mine and brothers batteries but I'm gonna look into it as it seems I have no other choice. Best regards

Which year model ?

 

Not sure if the charger actually changes, but the connector do change every so often.

 

My 2019 charger , and same second charger, both are working perfectly.

I have no personal experience with the company of which I linked to, but they appear quite solid with more than 30 years of experience.

Thanks Jaco and for anyone who's in a similar position we have ordered one off the above website so once it arrives and we test it, I will give some feedback as to how well it works
