Road to the Ceder

I am travelling up from Cape Town to Cederberg Oasis on Friday, but I am really worried that my small car won't make it there. I put my bike in my car, so travelling with my bike is easy, but I have been warned about a low clearance car on that road. Any advice on that, or would there be anyone who could give me a lift, either from Cape Town, or the last stretch from Citrusdal, or even Algeria, or Op-Die-Berg.  Regards, Judith

you should be fine coming from algeria side, unless you have a dropp suspension box shape bmx 320i wiff fluffy dashboard and two dice hanging from the rearview.

I'm up here at the moment & drove Oasis to Algeria last Friday. The road is fine, even for small cars but just take it slow. There is rain predicted for Thursday but will settle the dust for Friday. Full disclosure - I'm not in a small car. Cycled past quite a few lower cars yesterday coming from that side & seems all was fine

road is fine, a bit bumpy with corrugations but there were plenty of "small" cars in the area a few weeks back...

I've driven a small car there the past two years. From the "rougher" side - not Algeria. It's fine as long as there is no rain on the Friday.

Thanks...temps...HA!!! A devilish HOT FRONT hit the area the day we started...Day 1 by 09h00 it was 30! By 12, we had to shelter under a bush for 2hrs...maxxed out at 48!!! Day 2 was a bit cooler but still well over 35! Day 3 and 4 was predicted to remain in the upper 30's....I ride to enjoy, not to endure...we pulled the plug ....... Arnie once said... I'll be back!
