silly question I fear...

how waterproof is the 305?

Is it waterproof, or is it splash resistant?

We are not talking 30m depth waterproof - but say about 2m, just in case I fall off that horrible looking bridge on the Sani2C pics.

oh yes.. is the info easy to upload onto a pc? I dont need to also go and get a 500G hard drive, dual pentium 2G ram think faster than HR drinks type machine?

"I have had my Forerunner 305 for almost 3 weeks now. Previous to this I used a Polar S150 (wired bike mount) for several years and a entry level Polar before that, so I am used to basic heart rate monitor but not advance data recording or GPS.

I have tested the Forerunner 305 running, biking and swimming and have been generally very impressed. "

To previous standards for this kind of device' date=' IIRC something along the lines of water resistant for 30 minutes at 1 metre.

Uploads are easy and automatic using Garmin's Training Centre or SportTracks (which I prefer).

In my view the 305 cradle is a step backward from the 301's mini USB, but it does have the significant advantage of not allowing water ingress and being less prone to wear and tear.

My training history file in SportTracks used to be about 12 MB, but since the developer tweaked the storage method it's reduced to about half that, considerably shortening start-up time when you open the program.

As for PC speed, it all works fine even on my two-year-old Celeron M laptop with 40 GB drive and 512 kb RAM.

Thanks Zorgus - and are extra bike mounts easy to get hold of?

Quite easy to get hold of but expensive for a plastic thingy.
