Event Name: The Day of the Moped Expo
When: 18/10/2025 - 19/10/2025
Where: Prison Break Market, Glenferness AHJohannesburg, Gauteng
Category: Road

With much excitement, we are hosting a “Day of the Moped Expo” at our market on 18 & 19 October. Thank you so much for wanting to join us.

We are very passionate that this style of vintage bicycle and moped from the 1950’s to 1980’s is not celebrated enough.

Some that will be coming are

1948 38cc Garelli Mosquito as well as a 49cc 1949 edition

1946 Whizzer etc

The bicycles represent Italy, USA, Great Britain and Germany.

Up until now, we hold a Vintage Car & Bike Expo every Fathers’ Day – I’m sure you’ve heard about it.

”The Day of the Moped”

Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 October

We at Prison Break Market are planning a festival on the weekend of 18 and 19 October where we will be showcasing the evolution from Bicycle to Mopeds to the 50cc Motorcycles of the 60s and 70s and 80s.

We intend to do it annually and call it ”The Day of the Moped”

We intend to revive and promote thought about that particular time in history.

We would like to have four categories to show:

1. Vintage Bicycles

2. Motorised Vintage Bicycles

3. Mopeds

4. 50cc Motorcycles.

If you have a Vintage Bicycle or anything interesting in any of the above categories we invite you to come and display what you have and chat to the general public and give them some technical information or just stories about your adventures and memories.

We will offer you a voucher for a free Coffee or Cooldrink or Beer for each display item you bring.

Please come and enjoy the time with us and fellow like minded people.

Let us know if you could bring some of your treasures through so that we can be properly prepared for your arrival.
