The heart and motivation behind this race all originated from the need and the will to give back to the children of Middelburg – our local town. This is the biggest CHARITY RACE in Mpumalanga.

This race is a family event with different distance categories: Ultra Marathon, Marathon, Half Marathon, a Fun Race and a Kiddies Race. With our attractive prize money, we draw competitive riders from all over the country and host between 1000 and 1500 cyclists every year – making it one of the biggest mountain bike races in Mpumalanga… and the fastest mountain bike race in South Africa!

Our main beneficiaries include, but are not limited to, Middelburg Primary School, Middelburg Hoërskool and Care Village, the local orphanage.

The purpose of the funds generated by this event is to assist youngsters from disadvantaged communities, who are left in dire need to be able to complete their schooling.

I can confirm @gerriemtb is 100% spot on. I just love this race, and with the introduction of the 120km race last year, made it even better!
