  1. I was about to suggest boxing and shipping. I have made use of Triptych in the past, and have been very happy. You just need to box it yourself, they move it door to door. To give you an indication, last year in July I used them to ship my bike from Lynnwood Cyclery in Pretoria to their premises in Montagu Gardens, and they charged me R 610 one way. We were 2 people who sent our bikes together, so this may have been a better rate. Disclaimer: I have no affiliation with Triptych, I'm just a happy customer who will recommend them any time.
  2. I took my bike on Flysafair in November last year (JHB to CPT and back). On the Lite or Standard packages you first have to select the flight, then on a subsequent screen you will be able to add additional luggage and sports equipment. Think my bike box cost R 285 one way. Hope this help.
  3. You can contact Susanne, operations@triptychsa.co.za
  4. The venue for the Buffels Trailseeker is actually next door on the ARC grounds, tar road all the way to the parking area. But yes, with Buffels closed down now, there will be no more races there in the future. I was there yesterday and must agree, the numbers are definitely down from previous years. A quick look at the results: Marathon (70km) Yesterday - 356 finishers. 2019 - 712 finishers (held at Legends) Half Marathon (40km) Yesterday - 594 finishers. 2019 - 1035 finishers
  5. Just a kudos to Bike-Addict. Placed my order on Thursday, and received my goods yesterday (Monday) morning in Pretoria. Luckily they had it in store. I dealt with Ivan, and all went smoothly. Really happy.
  6. Wow, that look and sound great. @cat-i do you maybe know if they going to host it again this year?
  7. Ahem, 95km downhill with 1685m ascent😝
  8. Yes, going to be there for sure!
  9. I just love my Speedsleev Ranger. It wraps very tight and don't have any rattles. https://www.cogentindustries.co.za/product/speedsleev-ranger/ Looks like stock availability is a problem though.
  10. This guy, Jimmy Owen, advertised over 2yrs ago on Facebook in our MTB group. Not sure if he's still selling these. https://www.facebook.com/groups/134361270058168/permalink/1147183688775916/
  11. Not a group ride, but go check out Holla Trails. About 7km inland from Ballito. Awesome bike park, with great trails. Highly recommended.
  12. Was indeed a very enjoyable ride. At no point did I feel unsafe, we were 4 friends cycling together though. That last 34km was just hectic in the heat, it really drained me. Will be back for sure!
  13. Have done it last year, a really nice ride. Will look out for you on Saturday.
  14. Great, I'm also AL, will look out for you. Thanks
  15. What starting group are you in. I'm coming in solo from Pretoria, so would be nice if I can hook up with somebody. I will definitely stop somewhere for a re fuel. I'm also not a racing snake, well its more a matter of my current state of fitness does not allow me to be a racing snake this weekend! Just realized that last weekend here in flat Pretoria ????
  16. Waterpoints There are 6 waterpoints on the 100 Miler route and 4 on the 60 Miler route. Waterpoints are stocked with NamedSport Hydrafit energy drink, Coke, PowerAde and water. In addition, selected waterpoints will have banana bread, jelly babies, NamedSport gels and bananas. A big thanks to Penbev, NamedSport and Food Lover’s Market for our waterpoint stock! The 100 Miler waterpoints are at the following kilometre markers: 27km 54km 79km 98km 109km 143km The 60 Miler waterpoints are at the following kilometre markers: 27km 54km 73km 80km
  17. I found this on LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/in/seanstack/
  18. Thanks for the advice, will definitely look into it. Funny enough, the touring operator came to mind as well yesterday. At least the online store is down, so looks like he doesn't operate on that level.
  19. Unfortunately didn't pay by card
  20. Same here, in his last comms on 06 Aug to me, on his whatsapp nr, he also promised to refund the credit over that weekend. After that the whatsapp nr must have been disconnected as all my messages after 6 Aug were not delivered and the nr was offline. I still wonder how he was planning to refund me, as he didn't asked for my banking details????(itallic font is mos sarcastic?)
  21. Update: Not good news. I got hold of Sean and he informed me that Cyced has closed down and is in liquidation! When I asked about the money owed to me, he said it is out of his hands and is with the auditors now. So looks like I'm out of pocket, unless its worth it for me to take it further, just don't really know where to start, or what to do.????
  22. No sorry, that was another misunderstanding that was sorted.
  23. I see their website doesn't exist anymore. Also removed their FB page. Did he close shop now and left us hanging dry? He owes me R6k!
