Post Taxi crash fork advice needed!

To all experienced mechanics out there, please assist with advice. Had a taxi suddenly pull over and stop in from me in the bike lane. Rear- ended him despite best braking efforts and my fork broke clean through.

Bike is a 2018 SWorks mtb, with a Rock Shox fork. Hopefully the top frame is ok. Will have it checked out.

Question: is it possible to replace only the crown and steerer, or must I get a whole new fork? It's a carbon fork. Where would I get such, possibly well maintained used?

Hey Marc, yes, you can replace the crown of the fork, it's called a CSU. Your local bike shop should be able to get a price for you, likely not the carbon Sid WC. I would, however, be very concerned for the integrity of the frame. The CSU is very, very strong, and for it to fail in that manner, I suspect you may find damage inside the headset area. Take a flashlight and look for any signs of cracking in the paint.
