I'm battling to figue out how much this bike is worth because its an old frame with a new groupset. The frame is a Carrera Hercules RC (probably about 2000 era) old school style with carbon rear triangle and forks, its still in excellent condition for its age. The groupset is Campagnolo Centaur 11 speed which I bought 18 months ago. The bike has been used mainly on my trainer so wear and tear is minimal. Wheels are Fulcrum Racing 7, nothing too special but solid and in good condition still. Or would it be better to sell the parts separately? Appreciate the input.

Most people are, unfortunately, brand snobs - i think the stumbling block here will be the groupset.
that is a lovely piece of machinery.

you have a somewhat "undesirable" frame, with a valuable groupset, with some decent, if low end wheels.

individually, lets say:
Frame, fork, bar, stem, seatpost, saddle: 1500-2000
Groupset: 6000-8000
Wheels: 2000

as a package, maybe wouldnt move for much more than 6,000

another problem with Campag (and i am a HUGE fan), is that a lot of people entering the market for bikes, and looking at a starter bike, have maybe never heard of the brand, or if they have its from their grandfather.
they will only know shimano and maybe sram, so the groupset wont be a selling point.
someone who knows their stuff will want the groupset, but not the rest

Carrera is a Halfords bike brand. Not desirable by folks that frequent the hub but a good honest reliable frame set.

the financial value of this bike will be relatively low. You probably would realise more money selling the components.

you are probably better off keeping it.

The Carrera-Podium workshop was founded in 1989 by former professional rider and Carrera team manager Davide Boifava.  The brand was born from the needs of the Carrera Team and its champions Steven Roche, Claudio Chiappucci and Marco Pantani.  The workshop had a unique synergy because the professional team worked from the same building and the team riders were built in product testers.  The Carrera bicycle brand has a rich history of over 500 victories in the most demanding road races in Europe.  Many firsts were achieved at Podium such as the first frame in which aluminum was joined to carbon and the first custom on size carbon frame made in Italy.  They were among the first to build titanium frame for professional racing and the use of ceramical aluminum to improve the comfort of aluminum racing bikes.  Carrera is always the leader as evidence in the design of Phibra which is the perfect blend of stiffness and power along with comfort and compliance.  Join the Carrera team and you can ride a bicycle of innovative design and ultimate Italian quality

Agreed, sad state of affairs for Campag at the moment.
