Hi there

(sorry if this has been posted about I couldn’t find anything).

Does anyone know if I ride a seeding event for Argus; does it have to be the distance stipulated on Argus website or could it be the Event they posted about but shorter distance?

eg 99er coming up 7 Feb. There’s a 95km and 76km. Ideally I’d ride the 76km and they use prognostics to approximate a 109 time and thus seed me. Right?

Or do I have to ride the 95km for it to count?

thanks

The long distance would be the official seeding ride.

They might use the shorter distance with a penalty for your seeding, or if you are very lucky without a penalty or not use it all. They are not super consistent in this regard from year-to-year.

So I would say to be safe ride the long route, its not a particular difficult route and should be good training in the lead-up to the Argus.

With regards to how seeding actually works:
