Compatible freehub for Stans 3.30 (previous generation Stans hubs

I have a set of Stan’s Crest MK2 wheels with Stan’s 3.30 hubs. I bought them used a few years ago but never ended up running them. They’re very light and in excellent condition, so I’m now prepping them as a second wheelset.

I’ve run into a compatibility issue though — it seems Stan’s no longer sells the “3.30 XX1 XD driver” freehub body that would allow one to run an XD cassette. From what I can tell, that part used to convert 3.30 hubs (12×142) to SRAM XD for 11/12-speed MTB cassettes, but it’s now discontinued and unavailable through normal channels.

Does anyone know:

  1. If there’s an aftermarket or compatible freehub body that will work on 3.30 hubs?

  2. Whether there’s another practical path forward (e.g. hub swap / rebuild)?

  3. Or is it simply more sensible to stick with a compatible cassette (HG-type) and avoid the conversion entirely?

Any real-world experience appreciated — thanks!

you can also just run a sram SX cassette which uses a shimano HG freehub. It weighs a bi more but saves money and saves needing to change the whole freehub.

My spare wheels I use for training I run that setup with the GX axs derailleur, works perfectly.
