I’m dumbstruck at how heavily discounted Specialized bikes are at the moment. SL8 is now R170k compared to R220k a few weeks ago. Is there an imminent launch of a new Tarmac or what?

Yup likely SL 9 within a few months. 
 

Same as all the Epic 8s on huge discount. 
 

Any new model immediately makes the old one unusable and a death trap 🤣

Leaked pictures of the supposed sl9 on the web suggest a deeper fork to make the speed sniffer less prominent, and a canyon aeroad esque aero optimised rear end.

Given how common supposed “leaks” are these days I presume it might be a marketing tactic. Whether that is the real bike I guess we’ll wait and see. Would be interesting if companies leaked false images and a full venge like aero bike surfaced.
