Was riding back up the Spruit a few weeks ago and heard sirens just up stream from the Teeter Totter. As I get back onto William Nicol I see the ambulance turning into that construction site. Some dumb asses got a bit over-enthusiastic on those earthworks and a guy went over his handlebars and was being strapped into a stretcher. The fencing seems to have been stolen and access is free for all. Technically the contractor is responsible for access even if fencing has been stolen. This guy looked like he was in serious trouble. Anyone know how it turned out?

Coming from the South is always a bitch as it is in the shade and slippery. Your first attempt should be coming from the North. Get the speed right and dont watch your tyre. Watch the end of the timber and ride towards it.

Hey DB, I was the dumbass who crashed there. I wouldn't dream of blaming anyone but myself for that stupid stunt. Apart from temporary unconsciousness, it turned out OK.

 

 

 

Ironically I never ride the teeter totter because I consider it to be too great a risk for injury. God knows how I managed to knock myself out on that building site. Needless to say I won't be riding there again.
