I dont have an issue about greeting, I will greet cyclists, runners,  anybody, if they dont greet back (which often happens) who cares, I dont beat myself up over it.

I find that if I cheerily greet others it makes me feel better, and thats all that matters to me.

Back in the early nineties when I started competitive cycling seriously everyone used to greet everyone else. These days I find there's an awful lot of "pros" out there who think they're too good to greet anyone else.

And to re-open the MTB-road issue I greet MTBers but there's an awful lot of MTBers who treat one like the invisible cyclist. OTOH perhaps the real MTBers are out in the bush and the ones on the road are fake.

Geez. 94% greet. thats not what I see on the road. I find northern suburb riders greet more than the southern suburb riders.

What type of greeting do you use? I always wave, but chuckle to myself when I see the nod in return.

Willy, I would normally wave my.... hand. Unless I'm negotiating, as I normally do, terribly difficult and technical terrain. Then I just nod.

Hi W. i cycle in the southern sub's and normally they are friendly and fairly keen to greet. Also joined The Outriders and the riders in Tabelview

are definitely friendlier. I normally nod, except when I am too busy ?recovering?. Dead
