This morning nearly got run over by  a car - made a stupid, stupid mistake on a road I used hundreds of time before and know the risk and what to do.

Funny how your brain stops working in the last 2 km's when you attempt your first commute of season in an unfit state.Confused

Interesting:

"Many cells in the body can function for a short time using anaerobic metabolism, or metabolism without oxygen. Alas, the brain and heart, while skilled at many things, are notoriously poor anaerobic performers."

And:

The verbal memory scores in the running group decreased following the VO2max test; in particular, immediate recall memory and delayed recall memory were significantly worse after the test compared to the controls;

A prolonged memory effect was also shown to occur as it took three days for the running group to fully recover their baseline scores;

No significant differences between the runners and controls were found for visual memory, motor processing speed and reaction times.

You also get realy stupid when you do serious endurance events like a solo 24 hour race or trans baviaans, try to fix your bike after riding for 16 or so hours.
