Revive The Cattleman Ride (KZN)

Due to popular demand, our club has been approach to REVIVE THE CATTLEMAN RIDE on a Saturday morning.

We will start this Saturday the 6^th September 2008.

 

Venue:     Suncoast Car Park

Time:       5.30 a.m.

Distance: 80 km to Ballitto and back.

 

Groups: depending on the numbers, we hope to have an A & B group, a back up vehicle will be provided for each group.

 

This ride will be open to all clubs and all cyclists. Please forward this message onto all your cycling friends.

Ja, it used to be a rocking ride in it's day. But I see nerves are a bit jangled at the coast. Was riding in the mornings for a week at the beginning of August in Durbs, didn't feel right.... Either way, look forward to doing this ride on my next trip to Durban, it's been ages since I last went out to Ballitto on the beach road...

Ah the Cattleman Ride. I remember it with fondness. Used to ride down the M13, then onto the N3 at Mayville to make it from Pinetown. Yeah, yeah, I know the N3 is the national freeway, but I was young and bulletproof back then and it was only for a couple of kays. At least I wore a helmet...

 

Cattleman was a decent steakhouse/social hotspot for ages. I remember that with fondness too!
