get a syringe with a needle and some sunlight liquid inside it the gently push needle into grip till it stops and then turn the needle so that it slides in further squirt a little bit of sunlight liquid into the grip and the n pull the syringe out then twist the grip back and forth until it releases itself

beware using too much sunlight liquid will result in the grip not being able to stay in one place anymore

I actually just removed mine of my GT Marathon to put on some Specialized hand grips. Mine came of without any problem. Just the small "allen screw" and bob is your uncle. How long has yours been on? Could be some sweat/water/dirt causing it to be tight. Perhaps a bit of Q20 spray?

I also have a GT and used a Stanley knife to remove mine!  Putting new ones on was a bastard.  My hands are still sore and my wife gave me wierd looks when I sat there for 10 minutes forcing the new grips on.  Looked like I was in some low budget porn movie with the headset between my legs yanking them on...

Trick of the trade is if you have a compressor, angle the nozle on the edge of the grip and pull the trigger to release the air, pull it off, 2seconds.

Provided you have a compressor....otherwise sunlight liquid and sweat!

The problem is that when you put them back on you don't want them sliding all over the place, so it has to be dry and clean.  Elbow grease is the only lubrication allowed IMO.

ok... so i basically just took a knife and cut the soft part off. the problem is.. there's like 2 metal rings (part of the grip) attached to the bar which wont budge.

i dont want to offend any body but i has told that if you use alcohol on the inside of the new grips it works as a lubricant and also dries much quicker so as to eliminate the grips slipping later.

The other way is to drink the alcohol and then once you are totally pi$$ed use your new found strength and force those bastards on.

Sunlight dries to a sticky substance once the water has evaporated, so putting the grips on is easy and they stick tight once all the water has evaporated.

Most peeps that have quads or m/cycles will have a tin of deodorant in the toolbox.. for a reason...

Liberal spray on the inside of the grips and they will slide right on... and stick like crazy by the next morning.. They say its the alcohol in the deo... At last there is a use for all that Old Spice you got for Christmas and have never used..Big%20smile

Taking of? Sunlight/Q20 will work easily... just rinse them with hot water and dry of with old cloth.. Have reused grips many times with no issues. Of course a compressor makes life easy..

 Not reusuing? Stanley knife!
