I am 1.79 and I ride a 56.

It depends on who how you ride some people like to sit "upright" I like to "lie" when I ride.

Different stroke for different folks.  And then frame geometry makes a big difference.

Go to a reputable dealer they will help you

Do you have long arms and quite a long upper body ?

Or do you pull to the left on the downstroke??

Speedi

The most important thing to know about the correct size is what you feel like on the bike, regardless of how high your saddle might look or how low it might look.

The saddle height correctness is important as this is the business side of a bike.

The rest are for comfort.

If you have very pronounced scapula's or weak muscle around that area then top tube length is critical.

Get this wrong and you will be riding with servere neck pain.

Nobody's answered Speedi's question.

Speedi, if you haven't stopped growing, your concern is obvioulsly about whether its wise to get a 56 that you can grow into. That's like how long is a piece of string- how much more will you grow?

To be honest it is not that easy to answer.

How old are you Speedi , who knows you might grow into a 60, no one knows.

My advice is to see a good bike shop and they will give you a hands on approach with good advice.

Speedi if you read my reply, you will see that I said that a 56 would fit him better, just not in so many words.  But I finished that he should visit a REPUTABLE bike shop and have a bike fit done,  and without being funny not one maybe two shops and see if they give him the same answer.

Otherwise go to Arran Brown in Jhb or Hanco Kaggelhofer in Pta for a proper fit.  They will then point him in the right direction
