Chest pains

I had the same problem a while back where I had a pain in my left ribcage . The doctor told me it was the muscles between the ribs that got hurt due to over exersion. she said that sometimes the pains can start a few days or weeks after you hurt the muscles.

Lately I have been getting a pain in the middle of my ribcage where the left and right ribs meet. It feels as if someone hit me with a fist. Usually after a good night's sleep it feels better.

I've been experiencing shooting pains in my chest (slightly left from center) since the Hyper to Hyper.  I haven't been doing a whole lot of training (only a couple of interval sessions on the indoor trainer Click%20on%20image%20to%20open%20in%20new%20window) so no serious stress.. max I've gone to is about 175.  Should I be worried???   I've got the Liberty Ride for Sight on Sunday but I don't think I'll be pushing quite as hard as I did at the Hyper.  My HR average was 173!!

The muscle is called the intercostal muscle , and like broken ribs, it can take very long to heal. This muscle works all the time as it helps when you breath , so it hardly ever rests. It can also be the cause of "reffered pain"..

To be hundred percent sure , go see a doctor NOW!!...I ended with 7 stents in my heart arteries , because I thought I was teflon coated...dont ever ignore chest pains...!!!!
