CYCLE JARGON

Slave

Recommended Posts

I note that cycling, like any other walk of life, has it'sown brand of jargon.

Is there somewhere to get it all simplified.

For example, what are

Truvativ Iso-Flow Cranks?

and what are Alloy 32h Hubs & Double-Wall Rims?

Alloy 23h hubs and double-wall rims are:

Alloy hubs that are made for 32 slopes, laced with rimes that have double walls, which will be stronger laterally because of the um double walls

Truvativ iso-flow cranks are well

cranks made by Truvativ that are made according to a particular specification namely iso-flow.

Jargon is:

greasing a nipple

riding on the rivet

blades (instead of front gears)

cluster(instead of rear gears)

STI(instead of shimano shifters)

Ons het ge"attacK" en in 'n "Break" weggekom.  Ons moes hard "pace" om die "gap" te behou.  Maar sy was to sterk in het "ge"bridge" om met ons te "finish".  Sy was "Awesome" in die "sprint".  Haar "kick" was vol krag.

Every cyclist knows about these I'm sure ..

Hitting the wall aka bonking - running out of energy

Catching a dead wheel - sitting behind someone in a bunch who cant keep up thereby causing everyone behind to get left behind

So when you ride the argus and you get to the 33rd slope, then what? The wheels fall of or you are popped?

Jargon is:

greasing a nipple

riding on the rivet

I think I need those vitamins now.

Jargon is:

greasing a nipple- ask JB' date=' but gay slang for so much more

riding on the rivet-pushing very hard.  Riding on the front of the saddle.  The old brooks saddle had a rivet on the nose.  Also "polishing the rivet")

sorry 32 spokes.  oops

vitimans is not totally correct.  To quote Robbie Hunter "use the correct suppliments".  which means "is doped to his eye balls".

or "he is only on orange juice" which is a nice way of saying he takes EPO.  (After Ferriera's statement about EPO being as dangerous as orange juice).

or for short "he is juiced".

or "he is as clean as ..............LA, JU, ext"
