i did it on the cheap. use spacers on the hub. and old bits of derailleurs, jockey wheel and carriers. will show you mine on sunday.

I spoke with Kiwi a few weeks back about the On-One single speed conversions. He said they will be available soon, but couldnt give an idea of prices yet. If i hear anything from him, ill let you know.

That's a damn good price for a complete kit!

 

I went with a WTB cog as it has a much wider contact surface. Plain flat cogs sometimes chew up your freewheel body.

 

As for spacers, the easiest is to use either external BB spacers(there's always extra with a new BB....ask your LBS) or just split an old/cheap cassette. It's held together with rivets that come off pretty easily.

minty, what frame was that? an avalanche?

 

my tensioner is more of a bodge job. will get pocketbikes to shoot a coupla pics of it on sunday. looks mean with the drop bars! took it out for its first off-road thrash yesterday. was scary descending in the drops, but wooooooooohoooooooooo!!!!! such fun!Big%20smile

yip, put them on for the crater cruise, but fell before i got outta town. took it to groenies yesterday, and had an absolute blast! will ride it on sunday, for sure. some of the drop-offs are sure to be a bit sketchy, but what's a little bit of blood!

is there a race or something happening on sunday.

 

I was running a single speed for a while bit i just used the normal spacers and fixed the deraylor in position.
