Hi guys, just need a bit of help. I was recently advised to get Whey Protein, instead of a normal recovery drink with some protein and carbs, reason being, i can keep my weight down and still recover.

 

is that true, any other tips on this subject?

 

my main concern is keeping my weight where it is now, but TUNA and eggs just isint enough!Tongue

My dietitian said buying protein powders etc is a waste of money, completely unneeded with a healthy diet. I'm eating about 300g of meat a day on the plan she worked out, not to mention all the other food groups. More than enough proteins in that. Instead of spending R300-400 on a tub of protein powder, go see your nearest sports dietitian or nutritionist.

I agree, protein is very important. My point is that supplementing it isn't really needed. I eat 6 meals a day, same time during the day, the amounts measured. Of those 6 meals, 3 contain meat, and plenty of it. Sorry, I get in 360g of meats per day.

My dietitian informed me that with my normal protein intake it is too much already. She is cutting (trying too) back to 400 gr per day. So no need for me to use protein powder.Funny thing is that according to her my carb intake is too low. She has given me a diet where I actually eat more than what I currently do ( but the right combinations) Need to loose bodyfat from 11.8% to between 7 - 8 %.
