...What type of riding do you do? Based on that we can recommend something.

Mostly singletrack in the Magalies mountains. The Magalies mountains rocks are not smooth, so I think that is where the cuts had came from.

Schwalbe tyres are available with the Snakeskin sidewall which prevents side wall cuts & tears and they have very fast rolling & grippy tyres.

and according to the latest Bicycling only R 280.00 a tyre for Racing Ralphs' date=' which I happen to like a lot.

I would love to see that price in the shops. That will make it one of the cheapest out there and all know Schwalbes are not cheap.

Racing Ralphs vary between R435 and R600 depending, best at Westdene. Believe in them like granny on a spit very grippy, sidewall is a bit iffy though second tyre that my sidewall went.

for those conditions, may I suggest the Smart Sam on the rear and the Albert or Little Albert on the front.

Both with Snakeskin sidewalls.

Yip, they do. But they are also very soft so the knobs get ripped off quite easily and tread don't last that long.

Shamus, can you confirm if the RRP for Racing Ralphs published in Bicycling is correct.

Shamus: do you have stock?! I've been wanting to buy 1 x FA UST, 2 x NN UST and 1 x RR UST for since forever and can't find stock. By your own admission they sell out by the time you get them which is great for you, but for us looking for stock.

Then once I have hands on these I'd like to know that I'll be able to get stock again if something does happen to the tyre.

...or is it just me?

Tongue

stock continuity is a big issue for me.

It appears that Schwalbe is very focussed on the OEM market this year. There are so many bikes for 2009 being specced with Schwalbe tyres.

About a year ago they were nearing 100% production capacity and it seems they have reached it with all the new OEM clients.

I guess, as has happened with Shimano in the past, the AM clients will be supplied as soon as all the new bikes have been released.

Our orders for these tyres are on their system, but delivery dates are still to be confirmed
