JB, I deduced that gungi does not have the correct tools (chainwhip, etc) to remove the cassette and freewheel himself. Therefore the advice to go straight to LBS.

No prob, there is usually more than one way to skin a cat. If the OP (gungi?) doesn't have a knife, he'll ask the butcher to do the job.

CT is a bit far hey, i was thinking more along the lines of Hillcrest - Durban smiley2.gif Where is the best place to get the tools from though? do bicycle shops sell them?

Yes, they do (at least the more decent LBS does) Make sure you get the CORRECT tool for the job. A tool that works 100% on one Shimano model will not necessarily work on the next.
