Slightly off topic and just out of interest, the bunches seem quite small. How many entries were there and is it normal for Cape Town races?

Hi Ian. Don't have the final figures but seems like we had about 1 400 which makes it the biggest Cape PPA ride so far in the Spring season. Summer rides building up to the Argus get up to 2 000 riders per event. Did you ride the WCE?

Nope I am in JHB, 1400 is a good turnout, was just that in the photos it seemed that the bunches were quite small so I was interested to know. Seems like you at least had good weather.

Nice photos as usual Ronelle. Clap

True - that's 826 timed riders and excludes those who had no timing chips +  temp numbers (non PPA members) of which we sold about 200. Then there are also the F#@!*ing free loaders AngryAngrywho jumped onto the ride at the first robot.AngryAngry. Next year I will have someone there to catch them. mdk5552008-10-26 11:41:44

this guy attacked up the right hand (oncoming) side of the road two or three times during the race - rediculous!

and then he was probably knackered...  wasn't there something about the white line being strictly enforced?

(what happened to your spelling dude? you being sout efricanized? Wink)

Let me reword this...

"this guy drove up the right hand (oncoming) side of the road two or three times during the day - ridiculous!"

Now does that sound like a taxi driver or what?

Quite the reverse. It was a very flat ride. usually the South easter plays havoc. Our races are usually in the range of 80 -100

... and windy

The WCE is the exception.
