Hi all

I'm entirely new to this world of cycling. In fact, i work on the other side of the fence as a motoring journalist. I just want to ask if there's an established campaign/charity that promotes safe riding and awareness amongst motorists?

I ask as I'm in the position to potentially provide this type of campaign with the exposure amongst motorists. So let me know!

Have a chat with ShaunH.

He's been the driving force behind having cyclist warning signs put up on various routes throughout the South.

Unfortunately due to the apathy amongst Municipalities who needlessly drag their feet, expanding to other areas of Gauteng is taking rather longer than it should.

Try THINKBIKE as well.  They focus on motorbikes, but have a bicycling awareness leg as well.  If you want a journo's take on it pm SeanBardenhorst (A hubber that occasionally edits Bicycling) or phone Attie Koekemoer or Adel Tait at Ride mag.  Attie's dad has some very interesting initiatives and ideas wrt cycling in RSA, and is worth a call.

Good Luck

Hi Skipper and welcome to the Hub.

Exposure for this type of campaign will really benefit road cycling, so I thank you in advance.

As mentioned, Sign-Up and ThinkBike are running vigorous campaigns to promote Safe cycling and to create awareness especially amongst motorists.
