Where can I buy carbon fibre tubing and sheets? I need a flat sheet approx 400mm x 400mm and 2 - 3 mm thick. I need a tube 10 - 15 dia and a small tube 5mm dia.

 

Further' date=' can carbon fibre be bent by heating and folding..... same as you would bend plastic or perspex.

 

I assume Carbon fibre can be drilled, cut and sanded. I also assume that protective gear like a facemask needs to be worn.

Waar bly jy????? In Pretoria gaan kyk daar by Jix Hobbies daar by die Menlyn Retail Park, langs die Pro Shop. Praat met Terry. Se ek het jou gestuur. Ek vlieg tans 'n E-sky Lama V4. Baie goeie beginner heli.

 

Ja soos jy se is crash kits baie belangrik. Ek is deur 'n hele klomp blades tot nou toe. Tafels en stoele en mure wat voor jou inspring!!!!!!

It's very hard to get a stiff sheetof carbon to remain on a mould without vacuum bagging it. In fact it's nearly impossible.

As the resin starts the crosslinking process it stiffens and lifts the carbon sheet off the mould.

 

Even surfboards are vacuum bagged to ensure proper adhesion between layers and shape conformity

Carbon skids and battery holder on the chopper would look extremely bling...... but, I will have to settle with aluminium and paint it matte black. The tailfins are plain flat sheet. I still need somebody who can point me in the direction of a supplier for sheet and tube (for the tail boom) in the Pretoria - Jo-burg area.
