jabbathemutt007 Posted October 30, 2008 Share I vote February !!! Its in the heat of the season... February in Oudtshoorn ? You'd better ride with two water bottles and a camelbak and some beer in your jersey pockets if you don't have a team to give you liquids.
Seepglad Posted October 30, 2008 Share who said that? It was the responce 2 years ago when this exact topic came up. My response 2 yrs ago? Kan nie onthou nie..... The SA champs will be in Oudtshoorn. The date is still under debate, since the decision, which was meant to have been taken at the Congress in April was not taken, and the date is still the only "contentious" point. At present, two opinions exist: June / July and March. I am for March 14 onwards.latrinus emmer2008-10-30 06:10:

Nobody said it should be easy to earn the right to wear the white... How about those Frenchies putting 6-hour-plus mountain stages in the middle of July... Assassins! Guest colonel Posted October 30, 2008 Share I like the fact that it is in June next year' date=' gives me time to get back in shape... but if I already had form I would say April!! Then the people who win it can go ride in the national jersey in Europe where it means a whole lot more to people than what it means to the local people in South Africa. Also, dont schedule it to fall over some Spring classic... then you def not going to get the European proffies here!! For the guy who started this poll, he can ride in the national jersey the next year at the Argus if it means so much... He does keep the jersey for a whole year and not just 3-4 months...[/quote']What a silly, unimaginative and naive comment... Shame. I was thinking the same thing what a silly answer. Can I ask comeback boy what "Proffies" as you say are going to come back here that are in Europe? All 3 of them?? Or are there another 58 that are riding in Europe that we dont know about? Also get some form like everyone else and then race when the date is there cause I doubt CSA are going to say "sh*t comebackboy has no form lets wait till he does so we can have SA's" If the SA title and jersey was so important in Europe like you say then the "Proffies" would be here every year regardless trying to win it so they can wear it with their "Proffie" mates in races. Yip, all 3 of them... must i maybe personally name all of them next time for you??Maybe Darren as well... or whats that other kid who rides for Collstrop?? But how many of our Europian riders come home for it?? It is very important to riders to where their countries national jersey. If you cant remember Rob always came home for SA's when he started riding pro in Europe!! What happend?? everyone was so sh*t scared of him that all our local teams ganged up against him just so that he does not win... THAT is why he does not come anymore!!! About myself liking it in June next year... are you daft or something?? I am saying that it suites ME better... i am not saying listen CSA, you must have SA's in June next year because that is when i want it!?!? Must read more carefully, you are making your name arse... Groot Lem Posted October 30, 2008 Share Make me the road commissioner (speke? resigned) and we have it in march. And I see on the proposed calender a 2 week Giro? And whats cooking with Tour of RSA? Bad rumours going
niterider Posted October 30, 2008 Share Have it in March and you'll have double the turnout that you'll get in June. Road racing and training through a Cape winter always struck me as a dumb idea. April though is even better - a week or two after Cape Epic and I KNOW I'll be fit
