When I saw myself in the mirror and decided I need to my wife decided that I was to fat I went down to my LBS and bought a 2006 Reno. It was not exactly what I needed or wanted. Initially I wanted to lose weight and yes it suited me for a month or two. I would suggest that you go to your LBS and chat to them about your aspirations and let them assist in your choice that would be suited to the longer term.

Yep! So I see.............something like my LBS.............Embarrassed

Hehehehe, about as silly as asking for advice and reviews after you buy the bike.

Yeah - but, I did see a guys beat my time (substantially) on a Reno, and back then I rode an pimped Alias.

Any bike is a great bike to start on, and no bike remains the same for 3 years - this will just give you good tips on what exactly you want your next bike to be better in.

It is an entry-level bike, but one of my other friends are doing everything we do on a Boulder, including things like Tokai (mast and DH).

So - ride it hard and tweak as you go!

dont need any assistance mate.I askded what the guys think about the bike and if there is any reviews.
wasnt meant to offend.........I only read your question/statement properley after I posted and knew that it would take seconds to have the p!ss taken out of me..........wait till TNT1 sees this...........and he will. anyway mate just make sure you start saving for the upgrade and start a thread now on what to get as I can guarentee that you will. My wife still rides hers around the complex but I ended up giving my frame to a development rider and used the components on my Schwinn Moab and then a few months later I got my DS Orbea.......... she hasnt divorced me yet, will slow down if she threatens me. Embarrassed
