Slave' date=' let me tell you a little secret :

GO wears Specialized shoes - and we know how fast he is

Trubie wears Specialized shoes - and he's almost as fast as GO (I think)

Indigo Kid wears Specialized shoes - and I can do 50km/h downhill

And now

Slave has changed his name and is getting Specialized shoes so imagine how fast you going to be.
[/quote']

Talk about being a poser. Specialised shoes on a farm gate. Harharharharhar. Frikken funny. Like that's going to make me faster. Pull the other one dude, it's got bells.

BTW, you are pulling a Nuwbie on the crowd. You can go much fatser downhill and it has zip to do wth shoes. That was no downhill you klapped at 48 and I think the speedo I have is fairly accurate.

I also know I wear glasses and I battle to see stuff but can tell the diffs between 38 and 48. (See the one has a three and the other has a four.)

Hey Trubie, back me up here dude, you were there. He was doing 48 right? Admit it kid, we have witnesses who put you at the exacct place and time. Save the court the bother of a trial and just plead guilty as charged.

The prossecution rests your honour.smiley36.gif

Slave' date=' it will make a difference, you'll see once you have them on. The pull is very different. Wait when you get a light bike, the Trubes will be in trouble[img']https://assets.bikehub.co.za/legacy_images/smilies/smiley2.gif[/img]

I'm waiting to see you at the time you can't get his foot out fast enough...it's the most painful fall you'll have in terms of egosmiley2.gif

We've all been through itsmiley36.gif

Had a big chuckle on the weekend when I rode with my other mate and his SO. She'slike very new to cycling and she unclips the right leg just fine. Problem is she leans left and bliksems over on the left side, still clipped in.

She was so woes on Sunday she was in tears of frustration. I though it was hillarious but then that's just me.

Trust me, I will unclip fast enough because I hate falling and I hate having to redo bar tape. I especially hate little tell-tale scratches on my bike that shows if you have fallen or not.

All the scratches on my bike are from the previous owner.

Slave on that particular day you had 2 x Cat Eye computers on your bike and I think you added the two speeds together. On Sunday I rode that road and I could bearly manage 30km/h, the wind was working against me.

I've done 48km/h going the other way behind GreyOwl, Shawn was also there so that I'll admit.

The court allleges that on or about the 10th of April 2009 you did willingly and kowingly engage in an activity known as cycling.

That you on this date, completed what is commonly known as the cheese fatory loop and that you were in the comapny of one Nuwbie, One Salve and one Greyowl.

It is alledged that during said activity, you came to travel along what is commonly known as they Allewynspoort road and that during this ride, you had cause to be in the front of the "pack".

At this time, you did reach, for a period of time exceeding two minutes, a speed of 48 km per hour.

How do you plead?

Kid, you cant argue with these facts sonny.

10 April ride

Before kid's kick   At end of Kid's kick

Riding time:  1:50:30   1:51:15

Dist:   56.96 km   57.54 km

Speed: 34.9   60.3

Altitude: 1408 1409

I include altitude to prove it was a flat road and not a downhill.

So Kid, the verdict is, not only did you not know that the 40/48 that you and Slave are arguing about is way out, you also did not know, just how strong you've become in the gym. Better start thinking about a BB replacement soon if you carry on like this.

I rest my case ladies & gents.

Kid is busted! Ha!

Told you dude, that was some effort on that road! And now your riding away from the faster pack? You see, the more you ride, the better you get.

Efforts like the mentioned are good, and when it comes to races you'll know you have the effort in your legs for when the going gets tough.

When we were under15 schools riders we used to use that Alewynspoort road as our Time Trial league. We'd start at that general dealers shop and head out to the bridge and back...30km. It was a terrible time trial route, coz you can see the rider in front of you, and you know the guy behind you can see you...and you have to keep going as hard as you can!

Albion Wheelers also used to have a TT on the same route, but only to the bridge (15km) I stand correction, but I seem to remember either one of the Mountjoy brothers or a guy named Nikolai Stoikoff doing something like 17minutes to the bridge! It was insanely fast.

Is there still a TT series like the Velo Club Rand used to run?
Posted

Yip, certainly remember those TT's from the dealer on Sat afternoons. Some of those Alb Wheeler guys were even more mean than our Slave and Blue boy aka Kid. Have to say those were the days!

Not too sure if there are any TT's/series anymore.

Cyclelab Heidelberg has some TT for members but not scheduled , more ad hoc stuff. I missed out on them last year, but cant wiat for this year. Its a tough course though and always windy, and they do 20/30 k's.

I have an idea he will get off on a technicality:

Time Distance
Start 01:50:30 56.96
End 01:51:15 57.54
Elapsed 00:00:45 0.58
Average
46.4
