To be honest, I pump my wheels hard...sometimes even over 9bar. No rolling resistance, super fast reaction from the wheels...and my tubular wheels get pumped to 10bar!

We used to get tubulars for the track that could be pumped to 12bar! But you pumped those expecting an explosion!

Years ago I was speaking to the Conti "Boss" and his assurance to me that the tires are better at higher pressure is something that has always stuck with me.

YEsterday's ride turned out to be disappointing. The bunch seemed to be slower than usual and they turned right after the bridge to head towards Boscos, so maybe thay were just doing it as a warm-up.

When I left home, there was no wind. It came up somehwere out there on that short loop and it was not nice. Helped up the steps though, my easiest ride ever up there.

Since the fast bunch went a different direct,I waited for the others to play catch up (the social bunch.) Dam they are suddenly very slow. I had to turn around and go back a few times to stay with them and do a bit morein the way of hill training. With that tail wind up the steps, they could not even manage 30.

Hey Kid, how's my graduation coming along? Where were you yesterday. I know it was cold but I've never know you to be chicken.

Narco. Good to meet you briefly on Saturday morning. Hope you got to your MTB ride in time.

Slave, I was was all ready to go on Saturday night, my kit was out the alarm was set. Then on Sunday morning the alarm went off I switched it off turn over and went back to sleep and only got up at 8:30am. So yesterday became a well deserved rest day smiley36.gifsmiley36.gifsmiley36.gifsmiley36.gif

And this next weekend is probably going to be a very slow weekend, my son has a soccer match early Saturday morning and then I have a party on Saturday night so getting out of bed on Sunday may be challanging.

(Truth be told I'm giving you chance to get used to your shoes, you have until the 29th and then on the 30th we'll ride with the big boys!!)

Ahh, so you have discovered the concept of rest?

My rest was good and I am rearing to go again. I will have to invest in some of this warm kit tho' because it is brass monkeys out there today.

It was pretty darn k'frikking-BRRRRRRR out there yesterday too. You really didn't miss out on much. Cold and the ride was very sedate. (Unless I suddenly got good overnight which I doubt.)

Oxman and Nance are comin to ride with us this weekend. Suggest you make other arragments with soccer.

Trubie os doing Bela-Bela so it looks like a depleted hubber-bunch ride this weekend.

Hey Ox and Nance. Lets make it our own small group (that way Nance doesn't have to overide her fear of large bunches and we can make it at our own pace so the new test pilot can get into this road cycling thing.)

Best of all is we can ride a bit later when it has warmed up a little. (Maybe give Nance a chance to get some tights to keep the legs warm. I have a pair for you.)

Slave are you a mind-reader? Later will be gr8 for me personally. Coz I'll have to leave Randburg, take a 40min drive to Krugersdorp just to leave there to get to Alberton by 6:30 ... eish!

If later is a problem we can still do the ice bear run at 7:00 (I'm reasonably well kitted out, but the new bike pilot might not be as well prepared...!)

According to the weather man it's going to be a little warmer this weekend than what it is today but if it's going to be this cold I rather train on my IDT.

Oxman, later is really not an issue. Let's chat to Nance and see what time she thinks it might be a civilised time to go for a ride.

Even if it is warmer next weekend, later ride time suites me fine.

Say around 8 or so.

What you think Nance?

Hey WW. Depends on how many polar ears are swimming in your gene pool.

Last time I checked, I get cold at anything under 10 degrees C so I must be missing my polar bear genes.

Are you talking about that freaken hill ?

I can't feel anything when I'm climbing that hill so I wouldn't be able to agree or disagree with you but since you a woman I'll just agreesmiley2.gifsmiley2.gif

I can normally handle the cold but getting out of bed on the weekend while it's still dark is becoming challanging, my bed is just so warm smiley12.gifsmiley12.gif

OK, I'll make a special effort at the end of the month and this time I'll ride with you.

You bunch can still sleep late on the 23rd!!!

I have to leave home shortly after 06:15 via all the detours to get to da souff, means I have have to get up at 5:15 for Breafast and the SSS routine! If we go cycling at 07:00, this all move one hour deeper into duvet time!

Indigo Kid, stop wining like you dropped a dumbell on your foot! cycling is fun, and the polar bears are still tame this time of the year! (especially if you have polar ears!) smiley2.gif

smiley9.gif Ox, you keep picking up on my typos. I'll have to hire a PA just to check my post spelling.smiley19.gif

Remind me to tell you th ejoke I know about Polar Bears when I see you.

You want to make the ride time later than 8 Saturday? Just say the word.

I'm up at 5 on weekends anyway.
