Jow/ James. Just had a chat with Delgado. Seems he is bringing along one or two others besides Riaan.

Also a possibility that we may meet up with a few other riders at the start as well.

I take it GO has more imprtant stuff to do. He seems to have found a new Saturday hobby which clips his wings and precludes him from flyng with us. smiley13.gif

Maybe he will make it down for a short rideon Sunday. If I can still walk.

Yeehaaa, No taxis to chuck water bottles at.

Just don't throw any at the Fauna.

(Quick question, I have been through the reserve twice in a car before and there is one mean sumbeaach downhill there. What about speed limits?)

I'd love to set a new speed record on my bike but I think that's best left or Camaro.

Ok, so who has the medical kit?

Spaso9, WTF are you when we need you dude. Still running (Swimming) around those north African countries?

Sorry GOv2.0.

Joe got confused and Delgado invited me to ride the reserve tomorrow. Kid kinda did a bunk on the ride tomorrow given the expected wether conditions so I decided to hook up with Delgado and James (AKA Joe.)

If I can walk Sunday, I will take a probably much needed recovery ride on a short slow loop.

I originally planned to do SBR next weekend and I probably still might if I don't get the lycra frightened right off me tomorrow.

I need a couple of high milage weeks for the Fountains dude. (Been way too Slack lately. Hmmm, Slack Slave, interesting hub nom de plume that one. Hey Matt .... Never mind.)

GOv2.0. DUDE. I am terrified of the reserve. I have heard horror stories about it. I have seen some comments about it on the hub. I know there are some fother mucker hills in there that have long teeth to bite the legs.smiley18.gif

Joe kindly offered to fetch me and I jumped at the chance. Def not riding there and back, but if it goes better than I think it might, I may ride back home after. He will pick me up at 7 am.smiley10.gif

I live just down the road from you, you are welcome to come around (OH, you know where I live do you?).

Come join us dude, I may need that engine of yours to haul me up some of those speed bumps. Only kidding dude. PErsonally, I would love for you to ride with us. Delgado won't mind and I think Mr. Bond could be persuaded to tollerate your presence.smiley2.gif smiley36.gif

Dude, the reserve aint so bad. Yes the hills are evil, the downhills are scary...ok maybe it is!

I'll see. Are you going in at the Diepkloof entrance?

One of the reasons I agreed (nay, I jumped at the chance) for Joe to fetch me was that last time we planned a ride, he went MIA and we never hooked up. So I have no idea which entrance. At an educated guess, I'd say N3 entrance but I may be wrong.

What's to see or think about. Riding is great, nature is great, and now I get to do two of my favourite things in one go. If you need to see, I can help you with somespecs to see better. Stop hedging and do it. (See, I know where you live too.smiley15.gif)

Just try and stop me going to the reserve. There will be blood.

Er, Meester Bond, I haf another Kvestion for you. Are we going anywhere near what is know as Cheetah corner. (I understand from one of my books that Cheetahs were succesfully introduced to the reseve and since they have no enemies, they have prospered in the SBRNR.

I would love to see one or two of them. (And no, the animals do not scare me. The humans and the hills in that order.)

The SBR is awesome ride. Nice hills. Not too hard. I have ridden a few races through there and really enjoyed it. Just that one long hill keeps killing me (the one that starts in a dip with a right hand corner and then goes up and curves left with a bit of a valley on your left). I just hope that the cheetahs don't see you as prey on the downhill and do what cheetahs do best!

Hope it's not a deal-breaker Slave but I was told by a guy involved in SBR that the cheetahs were successfully unintroduced a while back. Seems the place is too small to contain them and there's neighbouring farms, settlements etc. so no.  The biggest predators I've seen there are jackals and a 5 ft mole snake - separately, they werent operating as a gang.

I saw talk that the biggest cog on your cassette is a 22 - in that case you wont be havin a problem seein all kinds of interesting things as you go up the steep ones. Mostly, red and purple and star shaped I'd say.
