The guys I rode with on Saturday were great company. Delgado and the water bottle twins and Joe is always a hoot.

So when are we going to see you again bud. A few weeks sonce we last rode together.

I think based on last Sunday's temp, I'm going to be riding a fair bit later myself and looking for cohorts to make up a smallish group.

At an educated guess, if the birdman still has the Prince, he'll be keen to ride at slightly more sane temperatures.

Let,s go long this weekend, say cheese factory and that loop we did a while back when kid klapped us with his hectic pace. Do that Saturday and then maybe Sunday do the circus loop. I will need to be hotting some hills this week to continue my training for the Fountains.

Waht time do we ride, say around 8 or so. Traffic will be a bit more hectic, but at least we wont freeze.

I'm keen to ride at 8am but nothing too hectic, for me a 70km loop will do.

I won't be able to ride this weekend as my youngest has a soccer tournament at the school on Saturday and Sunday is going to be my rest day.

I'm in for the following Saturday (13 June) I know it's close to you race Slave but I'm sure you'll still need to ride on that Saturday.

GO has realized that it's not about the bike and is selling the Prince to buy a Peejou (likes his P's) smiley36.gifsmiley36.gifsmiley36.gifsmiley36.gif

He can't be upgrading, what do you upgrade to after the Prince ?

Sounds good kid, Do the Circus loop for about 65 k's as a warm-up for me and then Sunday I will take a lazy spin around the short loop. Go play with Mona and the gang.

Problem is when I get on the bike, I forget about recovery rides and other stuff and just get crazy. Maybe I ought to stay off the bike that Sunday and just kick around the house instead.

I am keen for a ride at SBR!

Slave, I have done the Shova a few times. The worst hill of the lot is a few km after the start. That is long!!!!! The next worst hill is on the highway into Durban after the very sharp and dangerous left hand turn. But only because it is so far into the race and a fair distance. The middle section has some awesome twisting and technical descents which are totally thrilling if you ride them flat out!!!! You got to be brave though but can really make up lots of time.

But Slave if the 65k's is a warm up then surely on Sunday you should do 100km + at an average of 40km/h +.

Here's a suggestion, you ride with me on Saturday and we do the Circus Loop then on Sunday you can ride with Trubie cause 40km/h average is more his pace than mine.

WARNING: what ever you do don't drop Trubie, you know why.

Andy those twisting decents in the middle section would probably be Inchanga and Bothas Hill, Somewhere close to Drummond and Bothas Hill.

Inchanga will come into Drummond and Bothas hill will be going out of the village of that name IIRC.

Not sure exactly Slave, but they sure are fun, especially at high speed!! I don't think Shova follows the Comrades route though. At least it doesn't look like it from what I have seen on the tv coverage of the Comrades. Where are you staying for the Shova?

Kid' date=' as the new rider (who will ride with you guys soon) why shouldn't Slave, or anyone, drop Trubie?[/quote']

Dude you playing the same game as Nuwbie Trubie but the mistake you made was posting your times now we all know what to expect.

Trubie is this 7 foot monster (when I grow up I'm going to be that big) who gets out of bed at 4am during the week to ride with the lisenced riders and on the weekends he's out at 6am so that nobody can see him doing his secret training. In summer he normally rides in a skiing outfit, doesn't even break a sweat (similar to the STING from Top Gear).

Would you want to p!ss off a 7 foot monster who is always undercover ?

This last Saturday GO went for the usual group ride but never saw Trubie but Trubie was there (undercover smiley2.gif).

The last time I rode with Trubie was that Heidelberg breakfast ride we done and since then he doesn't even associate with me. I think Slave and Ox are in the same boat.

Andy, you have been warned !!!

Cause Trubie pretends he's slow. (I pretend I'm fast). In reality it's the opposite way around. Trubie is a strong rider (although he will disagree) and fast.

If the truth be told, I do not have a snowballs against Trubie.

When all is said and done though, we rev each other a bit on this thread in the name of good fun though.

Your pedigree says you're quick and the rest of us will probably just hold you back. Trubie will give you moreof a run for your money and GOv2.0 can go fly at mach 2.

Me, I'm just the joker in the pack.smiley36.gif

Kid, You and Slave should be vying for a show at the next stand up comedy festival, you are hilarious this morning.

What happened?

You got it all this morning?

Scaring the hubbers away with yr crap. See what happened to Racman, Calf man, etc, you okes scare the living daylights out of them before they join our rides, and then they dissapear of the radar, and even off the hub?

Besides, sunday is Stonehaven again.

Yeah Nance' date=' it sure does.

Most bikes I know have 39 tooth small chain rings so mine is a tad bigger.

Then I seem to see a lot of 25 tooth "large" cogs /sprockets on the back. No matter how hard I try, I just can't get myself to spin that much although it would make the SBR a breeze.

 [/quote']

ahh. I get it.  So I have a 39 on the front and 25 at the back... I should be good for SBR?

Er, Andy, I haven't entered Shova yet so not too sure. One of my neighbours said hos team was looking for riders last year so I'm hoping that this may happen again this year and I can get a late entry, even if I have to sleep in my tent.
