That is why I go. No gym bunnies, no posers, no nothing... Plenty of equipment to use at my leisure!

Kid, I agree about the gym on Friday night! All the eye candy, other than Slave's on the Ladies thread, are not at gym on Friday nights.

Sounds could Slave, when is the SBR intro ride for him? smiley2.gif

Trubie, are you trying to get into the duathlons with Ox and starting with a bike/walk? smiley2.gif

1xbike & 1xthreadmill... but tonight it ain't busy, so I can use each for more than 20 minutes (which means it is a proper session, and not just a bit of posing) smiley2.gif

They make the machines (some) switch off after 20 minutes smiley6.gif

Level? I go to gym infrequently enough that I have no idea..... Ground level? smiley29.gif

So I rode the full loop of Suikerbosrand today. It was a little windy, about the same as the first time I rode there a few weeks ago.

Time was 2h12m exactly.

Profiled the major climbs.

1. First Ascent. 2.3km. 8%.

2. Dam Hill. 0.3km. 6.6%.

3. Long Drag. 1.4km. 6.7%.

4. Trubie Climb. 0.9km. 7.2%.

5. Bridge Hill. 0.5km. 6.4%.

6. Final Climb. 1.6km. 8.4%. (I took the measurement from the start of the railings where it starts to kick up and not those little bumps).

So you basically ride on level 1? smiley24.gif

smiley36.gif Okaay....

I did the following:

20 min cycle - HRavg=136

20 min run - HRavg=153

10 min cycle - HRavg=154

10 min run - HRavg=152

Each with about 1 min in between. Max HR was only 162

The cycling was at level 9 (avg 208 watts apparently - whatever that might mean to whoever)' date=' and the running was a steady 10.8 km/h ~ 5:30/km.

Was not too difficult, nor meant to be, but a great way to feel how the legs respond when changing disciplines... I had to leave something in the tank for the long race at Babbas Lodge today where I realised that all the road cycling (to the exclusion of MTBing) has made me a bit of a P03FT3R [img']https://assets.bikehub.co.za/legacy_images/smilies/smiley19.gif[/img]. Will have to either do a LOT MORE road cycling, or take the mountain bike out for more regular long cycles.

Interesting stuff!!

Looks like you had a good ride. This means we can actually yrt do 2 laps in less than/just about 5 hrs?

Thanks A, its strange how that Trubie climb feels more severe than the others. Guess its because its so short but yet very steep?

Good ride, yesterday am was perfect for riding skies were clear, not too cold, crap head wind on our way back though.

Went out normal time from Xbugs, met up with the leaders of the creme de la creme of the south pack(5am gang), and the 3 of us decided to do Bosco's (rode with main group untill after Bosco downhill where they turned right, we went further on and then turned right) , gave me 75k's, but I am glad didn't go longer, would have been little bit less pleasant ride then. The bunch wasn't very aggressive , so it was nice tempo riding, lotsa chatting, & great fun (all the reasons why someone should be cycling)

Just to put some perspective on this, I mapped Walkerville Hill on Sat

- 2.595 km, 3.4% grad, 88 m ascent, and realized its no longer a hill, just a false flat!smiley2.gif
