I understand that you were not up to your usual speed. I did try and tag along, but the lack of pace made me tired so I just went along at my own pace. I had planned to stop at the circus anyway to chat to Trubie and Oxman and wish them well for their respective races. Only got to wave at Trubes and shout some abuse at him as he came past.

He was right in the middle of his start bunch so I figured to just wait it out until he came past.

Then I ended up having a very slow ride home anyway since I was nurse riding someone else and the steps being high risk right now, I didn't want to ride it by myself and though ti less safe for a lady to do it alone.

Not a rumour kid, insanity. Some dang fool suggested that we enter it as a team event. 200 km is not for the likes of me that can barely manage 124 km.

I have not accepted the offer yet and I don't plan to. I have left instructions that if I do enter such an event, I am to be taken from her to a place of execution, und shot at dawn.

Slave, dont you think its a little pointless to get shot after the 200km ride ??

Besides WW is going to "race" the 200km, surely you can keep her company ?

From what I've heard (which isn't much) about this event is that there are NO watering points alone the route, you have to carry your food with you or you need to have a back-up car, which means NO STOPPING !!!!!

Kid, kid kid. So many things you still have to learn in life.

WW is easy on the eyes, but no way I am going to keep her comapany for a 200 km bike race. She is simply not THAT good looking. I cannot think of one woman on this planet that would make me change my mind.

Besides, her hubby will bliksem me into another blood group and I can't like the sight of blood. More so, when it is my own blood leaking out of my wounds from being bludgeoned by some woman's hubby.

If I stay away from the start line the no stopping rule is not an issue and having a backup car just makes it so much easier to throw in the towel and catch a lift.

Instant disqualification. So why put a human body through so much. U ran Corades once and it hurt so much I stopped running.

No way, 'k? Just no way, I am going to risk getting hurt riding a bike 200 km. I may then be forced to hang up my bike and then who is going to ride my Colnago? (No, the frame will be way too big for you.)

But, on va uvva hand Darren. I may consider it. IF you beat me at the 94.7.

Worth playing for?

WW, you have my full permission to give Slave a clap!!!

Oom Slave you should becareful, I've heard rumours that there is a vitamin called EPO that can make any slowpoke go fast. MAybe you should start training for the 200km smiley2.gifsmiley2.gifsmiley2.gif

NB, I do own a grinder and a welding machine to I could easily make the Colnago a 52cm frame.

Maybe you need to do some too.

Like I said, I might consider it if you beat me in this years 94.7.

Momentum have agreed to sponsor my entry and kit for the race. Maybe I should have tried for a bike too.

Now why would WW want give me a RFS? (Running smiley35.gif Slap.) Said she was good looking. Just not enough to make me want to enter a 200 k bike race. Even that would be easier than doing one Comrades marathon.

So, I see you are now starting to get a training schedule going to ride at ungodly hours of the morning. At east my office is now some distance from home so we will be doing some commuting couple of times a week. Good hill training.

So Slave, you don't want to be part of the Team ASGR for the 200km race? We can always rather all go do the Paris-Roubaix next year if you prefer?

Kid, hope your talk of training actually results in some training!

Andy, dude. You better believe that I am about as scared of a 200 k bike race as the kid is about a three hour 94.7 challenge.

You spring for the tickets and I will ride anywhere in the world where the temp is at least 10 degrees celcius. Who know, I might even try for the dreaded 200 k mark.

Hmmm...a lot of talk of the mystical 200km ride? Its a long way guys...but you'll love the feeling once completed! (if you dont have Scutters by then!)

What time does the group leave from Steers in Meyersdal tomorrow morning? Trubie?

Sorry buddy

Only saw this post now.

We leave at 5:00 or just after. Tues - Thur

Fridays we leave at 5:10 at the Xenex down the road, and do a shortish recovery ride through Alberton North - gives me about 30/33 km's.

You going to be joining us?

Hey, the wise old bird (virgin 2 point oh) has decided to grace us with his presence. smiley4.gif

Nice to see you again dude.

So WTF is scutters? Sounds incredilbly dangerous.

This mystical 200 k ride came from one of the regulars and suggested that we form a team (ASGR) to ride the double century or some junk. All I know is it is 200 k's and that is just a whole lot further than I can manage even on my very best of days.

Whoever it was needs to seek professional help (as in gotta be stark raving....)

Was thinking about you yesterday and the daybefore because I rode past your place. Did Michelle / Bellairs on Tuesday and Camaro yesterday. Hurt so bad I think I did one of my quads. Right side hurts like all the demons from the Carforum.

Thanks Trubie...woke up at 5am this morning and decided sleep was far more enjoyable than cycling!

Might join next week.

Slave, saw you on tuesday night on your way to Comaro...I pity you dude!

Scutters are Faeces that just run out of you due to exhaustion! Happy now?

And so this place died a silent death due to a lot of chatter on email?

Si, that condition sounds dreadful.

At least people who suffer from it aren't FOS.

On Tuesday I was on my way to Bellairs. Had a great ride.

I did Camaro on Wed. Almost cr@pped myself. It really hurt a lot. Reason I tried Camaro was I got another cassette. It was originally 12 / 23 but I just used my 11 tooth in place of the 12. Really did not make that much diffs.

Pain is pain and Camaro knows how to dish it out.

Yeah Ox. Now instead of another 300 pages here. I have 3000 junkmails in my inbox.

Will have to try and set something up to divert them to another place.
