Finished the 90.6 today in a time of 2:32 average just over 30. As we turned right off the Heidelberg road I punctured my front tubby. Eish. I learned a VERY good lesson today and it is to pre stretch the friggin new tubby smiley5.gif I spent over 12 minutes mending my wheel and off again. At this stage most of the field had passed me. I honestly TT for the next 30km before picking up a bunch. I recovered in the bunch up to 45km and decided to go and pull a bit. Me and another dude ended up doing it all. I fell back to ask the guys and girl to come help. The one guy reconed with an IM tatoo on the leg I should be doing the work. I broke away again at 50km with 30 to go into the wind and managed to catch one other rider and we rode together to the end. Nice race and I am so learning the ropes and paying every single Rand for school fees. Now some good base work with my Roadbike in SBR next weekend then the 94.7smiley2.gif Ride safe

Let them rest up ... what works for horses works for us as well! Cool them don with the hose pipe. Rest up (Some foot up time) and remember to eat! The legs, she will be happier again tomorrow smiley2.gif It was a hard ride, but a good one! They will complain and ask for a bit of special care! Let them have the rest

Kieran, was good meeting you dude...and now you are a bonfide ASGR rider having completed the SBR! Especially since you rode there and back! Kudo's dude!

Was good seeing the crowd over the weekend...and Kid, your Kid suits his new ride. Hope to see him competing and putting it to good use. Has he considered racing with the guys in his age cat? I (IMHO) think it would be a good move for him.

Slave...nice emergency bike repairs on Kierans steed! Your a good man!

Ride for me yesterday was not the best. Kid punctured in the reserve and then broke his chain so it was slow going.

In the end I managed 120 km for the day of which half was in the reserve. Too some 6 hours to get back to the circus. Made me very tired. Riding time was 5 hours though. (Had two stop watches going.)

Legs are in revolt today. So,that was my last big ride before 94.7. Will have a resonably easy week for the remaineder of this week.

Longish easy ride on Saturday and Sunday and then very little next week.

Hey Nance and Joe, thanks for the ride saturday. It was great. Had a load of fun on an easy(ish) ride.

Owl man did some hard core stuff yeasterday. 160km in around 4 hours. Man the bird can fly.

Sorry for the delays yesterday guys.

The chain she is finished. Slave thanks for your help and I'll be back with my new chain shortly.

Kieran, since I have a score to settle with SBR I'll be going back after the 94.7 you wanna join ????

GreyOwl, Mini Me is enjoying his triathlons. Haven't given much thought to him racing (just now he gets quicker than I, then what).

Kid, that one's a bit of a bitter pill to swallow. Teeny is way faster than  I am, but one has to accept that age creeps up and we get slower as we get older.

So if your kid gets fatser than you, encourage him. He ay turn out to be a good cyclist. Nurture whatever tallent it is that he has.

Get your revenge and live your dreams through him.smiley4.gif

Ja Slave, you getting fatser as you get older smiley20.gif smiley20.gif smiley20.gif

Mini Me is already faster than me, he's left me behind a few times on a number of hills.

Is Teeny doing the 94.7 ??

Nope. Little sod has been lazy. No training. Says he works too hard and is tired when he gets home. On weekends, he is too involved with his GF.

You obviously don'tremember y stats, they say I am getting slower. So I must be.

Yesterday 120 km in 5 hours? Nothing to be proud of.

Hey Kid! Sure! Will bve awesome to get back at the Reserve! Haha! Will use 94.7 as training fotr that, not the other way around ha ha! ;-) And no... I will not ride there this time either! I can definately ride SBR on the 28th of Nov (got the day off) or another day if we get there to start asap. Haha. Sweet let me know!

Thanks for the ride guys, was a good one smiley20.gif

Slave, I'm so glad you added the (ish), cos it certainly wasn't a 'walk in the park' kinda ride. I was pushing myself pretty hard (I even went into the wrong HR zones in all the excitement smiley3.gifsmiley3.gifsmiley9.gifsmiley4.gif)

Was good meeting a new hubber and glad I did the distance. Joe was on top form again and kept me entertained when he wasn't chasing after the fast guys.

(don't tell any of my MTB friends - but I'm really enjoying my road bike smiley4.gif)
