Shawn, nice to see you again. Pity about you missing the big day that many of us have trained for and sorry that we will not see you there.

Been looking for you at the usual meeting spot and noticed you've not been around. Missed you dude. (I'll have to aim better next time.)

So in a few short days time, it will all be history. Then I can go and play with the kids on my own age group.

So, dudes, what route are we doing Sunday?

Anyone for a ride around the greater Jo'burg area? Let's meet at Woodmead. I heard a rumour that if we get there early enough, we can even ride on the M1.

We'll aim to do about 95k's. Target time about three hours.

Tyx, dude, long time no see. smiley4.gif

Now you going to make all the okes think I am a lot faster than I am. Especially the kid. smiley7.gif

I had a strong tailwind there pushing me up the hill. I was working very hard too. Had to try and make up the time I lost riding into the wind.smiley18.gif

Ended up being a slower TT than other times and I was disappointed. smiley19.gif

Trubie and the kid go out and ride and they say they felt like they were going slower and their time were better than before. I felt like I was going faster and in fact, I was really slower.smiley9.gif

Go figure.smiley5.gif

When you are young, your mind tends to wander. When you get old, it leaves you completely.

When you are young, you pause to think, when you get old, you forget to start again.

Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

Long time ago I used to drool over the lovely young lasses. Now I feel like an old peadophile and can't quite remember what we used to do with the young lasses way bcak when.

Fortunately, I remember how to ride a bike....

What was I saying?

Ja, ou maat, die oud is noe doe kwaal nie. Dis doe dom wat my pla.

Looks like the wind will be 5 - 10km/h on sunday with some thundershowers with 4mm rain predicted. Can live with this forecast. If all goes well we should be done before any of this happens.

Legs quite tired today and I will wake them up on Sat.smiley20.gif

Slave I will be on my Black Yellow Merida so let me know when you pass mesmiley9.gif

If all goes well I will do short loop

Predictor, doubt very much if I will be passing any one legged dogs on  Saturday so chances of me passing you are about as good as my chances of falling pregnant.

Saturday is about just loosening up the legs a bit and maybe one or two tiny little surges / intrervals. Definitely short loop for me.

Gots to be saving the legs for Sunday. DId the carbo load thing last night and been eating myself silly trying to fuel up the tank.

Got my Momentum sponsored kit yesterday. Bike is prepped, bag is almost packed and we are ready to rock n roll.

I look forward to loosening the legs a little.

I REALY need to go slow on Sat as I pushed 35kmh Tuesday and Wed at Midvaal in the wind.

Did 70 odd km in just over 2 hours. No complaints just have to be slow now for next 3 days smiley23.gif

Predictor just watch out for Slave, he'll push you to 45km/h and beyond.

The day before Race 4 Victory, Slave came past me and shouted CATCH ME IF YOU CAN, I only managed to catch him the following day.

So, I just got back from my meeting and then the Convention centre.

One goodie bag and one race number P9258.

The goodie bag has the following contents:

1 x (Very) small bag enerjellie

1 x bite sized bar one

1 x (Very) small bag jelly babies (compliments Netcare 911)

1 x sachet Deep heat shower gel. (Somehow think that might make the "nether region" feel not so comfortable.)

1 x tea bag for coca tea (not sure what I do with that.)

1 x minute samply bio oil.

1 x map (brochure of waterfall estate

1 x Momentum Water bottle.

Various adds, flyers and junk mail .

That's all folks. At the expo they only had a handful of very harassed looking product queens. Noboday handing out anything remotely free.

No leaky water bottles like my last time being randomly handed out. Can buy a "race pack" fromvarious stands that include water bottle energy bars ang gels.

One place selling CO2 bombs for only ZAR10. Bleddy buggin an' all man. (Read as good price)

I thought the expo was a bit disappointing. Kinda looked forward to it since last couple of times I did 94.7 I went onlly to collects race number. Had no interest in the expo. This year I was keen to see it from my newly acquired "cyclist perspective". Some nice bikes and wheels but little else of interest to me.

Edit:

Goodie bag also contains 1 X Blue ice roll on deo. (must say it smells nice and clean.)
