Hi All,

Sometimes you just wake up and know that you should not be on the bike.

This happened to me last week.

Tested myself and RHR jumped from 43 to 51 in 1 day and had some sores in mouth and just felt NAFI.

Picked up my Vit C intake to 3000 pd for 5 days

Decided to hold back and feeling great now.

Did a 4 hour marathon from Meyerton to SBR long loop and back home yesterday and loved the wind.

Still cannot believe the amount of people getting into trouble in the reserve when the wind picks up.

Will see if I can join you all in the morning but still working so no promises.

GO looks like you been working the legs and thanks KID hope you had a good festive time as well.

Hoping to see you in the morning then.

GO I will PM you my cell number for future.

Anyone else let me know if you would want my number as well.

No worries Grey Owl' date=' I did a Bosco and back, think I need Dura Ace, was getting blown backwards for part of the route.

Will catch up with you next time

Dura Ace?! Dude, save the cash and just train more! Its a lot more rewarding...and "Buying yourself fast" is never a good tactic!

Rode this morning, hoped to have a slightly more sedate ride today, but it ended up being yet another torture session thanks to the Beneke duo! Hell, that wind was hectic...the last 15km were horrible. Was good seeing Nish4, Tachymeter and MightySpoke(or was that Cruzer?!)

Tomorrow again? Anyone coming? I'm expecting the pro's will be back again tomorrow...

Agreed GO! Dura Ace??? Why Dura Ace.. When you have SRAM smiley2.gif Ha ha ha but now you making me think twice about my new grouppo smiley17.gif I want i want i want smiley4.gif NOW smiley9.gif ha ha lol. Looks like you boys had fun in the wind this morning smiley2.gif

Dura Ace, Red, Super Record...its counts for very little when your hanging like a dogs ball into a seriously strong head wind!

Watch the movie 'the Flying Scotsman' and you'll see that super hero cycling equipment means sod all!

That's the guy on the washing machine bike that you told be about ?

That his seat wasn't within regulation, etc ??

Like another hubber told me, it's not about the tool, it's all about the fool on the tool.

So JA Dura Ace isn't going to make you any faster - believe me!!!

Ola gents!

Yes, Nish4 is correct...Slave needs to show Hub land his new Italian lady friend!! Nice dude...nice to see you on your new bike, very 'Euro Pro' with the blue bar tape...and you look very comfortable on it as well. Many happy puncture free miles are ahead for you!

Nish4, I'm guessing you went straight up the Lido hill? I was surprised that they went right down that Grasmere road. In hindsight it was a good thing you went straight, coz that road was a nightmare. We almost got taken out by a taxi who insisted on overtaking head on into us...missing us by mm's. Not cool.

Immediately after that, the riders decided that we were better off riding in single file and sent the strongest nutter to the front who then decimated the group. By the top of that long climb to Grasmere there were only 10 of us left and they were not waiting for anyone that had been ridden off. I'm a bit concerned because thats where we last saw Tachymeter. Dude, are you ok?

I wont be going out that way again, thats for sure.

But, Predictor...dude you are a big old V8 of a rider! Was a pleasure riding with you, and thanks for the laugh at the expense of the naughty folk in Meyerton!!!

I got in just after 11 from the ride...see you all again in the AM? Except for Slave who is riding to Standerton!

Slave what a cool ride and you just looks uber cool on your ride dude.

Many many happy miles for you on the ride

GO what a ride I loved every bit of it and I reeeaaaly had fun today.

Ended up being 125km at 30kmph.

Felt a bit sorry for the ones left behind but this was a real strong group today and I must say I was quite lost so just focused on hangin in.

Thanks again everyone cool ride but I agree with GO that this road is just to risky to ride on any day even in single file.

Have a good one all and talk to you soon

hi all' date='

Are they any groups going out on a Sunday morning?

[/quote']

Hi Aquadat0r,

The bunch leaves Xumbugs at 7am on Saturday & Sundays.

GREYOWL, so I take it you were the nutter at the front of the bunch ?

Take it easy on the guys as they won't be able to keep up.

PREDICTOR, I think you should upgrade your groupset drastically and buy CAMPY !!!!!

SLAVE, show me the bike dude!!!

Aquadat0r...your best bet would be to go to the Cycle Hub on Swartkoppies rd and ask there. I know they have loads of single track inside their farm area...and its pretty safe. But, I think you should also ask BIG BEN about some MTB rides in this area. They'll help you out the best.

But come join us for a road ride too bud, its always nice to meet up with the Hubbers.

Indigo Kid, trust me I was not the nutter that went and inflicted massive pain on that climb!

Sheesh, once again we came up the Steps at monster pace. The guys were all still going on about Hunter and Impey pacing us up the Steps into a head wind at 42kph on Sunday!!! I thought I was the only one impressed by that...but seems I was wrong!

Hey GOv2, I got my butt kicked near the squatter camp a few weeks back and I could see what was coming - again.

I teamed up with mighty spoke, wonder woman and a few other dudes for a relaxing Bosco route.

Same time tomorrow ?
