Kid, as much as I am irritated and frustrated by the fact that I am unable to ride and will not be able to ride for another 5 or 6 weeks, I am also not able to do any rain dances.

The ribs hurt all the time and anytime they feel like letting me know just how much I abused them, they are keen to remind me, often. smiley18.gif

I had a half-sneeze this morning and crapped myself. smiley19.gif

Coughing is still like a major thing although breathing has become something I can almost do again. Laughing is also still very painful.smiley11.gif

And of course all my mates are sending me all the funny junk they havei n their inboxes. So I am screening all my e-mails.

Met up with someone I haven't seen for a while yesterday and they gave me a good decent shoulder slap. smiley18.gifsmiley18.gifHad to run home for the pain pills, not to mention a change of undies.

Still can't fix my flat tyre on the bike either.

Other than that, I am all good. Nothing to complain about at all. In fact, I am loving this weather.smiley4.gif

I was dnacing and then it started pouring down on me.

Will try the tango in the morning.

So got my Argus seeding - H 6:52

Must say that I am quite happy with this.

Washed me ol roadie today and cleaned her well lubed the chain and gave her some TLC.

She is shifting sweet and now we need the race to come.

Saw we have a NW wind 10 - 15kmph

60% chance of rain.

I also heard we not starting with an up and little sad as I would have liked the hill start.

Will have to wait for SBR climb to make a move - HeHeHe

See soon

Predictor' date=' the route (if same as last year) is slight downhill from Nasrec, left into a gentle up follwed by a short steep down and then hard up to Columbine and over the top, past Southgate, right onto Old Vereeniging road and down the mineshaft of Lido hill. LEft and flatish along Swartkoppies and then uppish along Klipriver, past the airfiled and the bike track.

This was where the forst attacks took place last year and my bunch dropped my ass. I managed to haul back the second part of the split bunch going  past Meyersig.

The down the steps, past Klipriver and past SBR. Some nice little hills there to further split bunches and the gentle up all the way to Henley. Pretty much flat with a few slight hills between there and the end.

All I can say to all of you riding is enjoy. I hope you at least all have a dry race and you make your target times.

Sadly, I will only be there in support. Plan to be on the road around Meyersig to shout "encouragement" to y'all.

Don't tell anyone but I am planning on riding the Hybrid from home to Meyersig. On very soft tyres. [img']https://assets.bikehub.co.za/legacy_images/smilies/smiley1.gif[/img]

Thanks Ian, you too mate. At least I can say that I was a sometimes serious cyclist so my enforced rest is not irking me quite as much as yours would be you.

Also didn't hurt my knee so when I finally make my comeback, I should be at pretty much the same level as before.

I fear that knee injuries sometimes do not heal in quite the way we expect.

NaAturally mate, I hope that you are able to get back to your previously high standards of riding and racing.

Take it easy buddy.

Thanks Slave! Glad to hear you haven't taken up cricket! That causes rain! Who did start playing cricket? Kid, was it you? smiley36.gif

You know I like racing in the rain but this rain is starting to get to me now!

IanJ, welcome to "our" thread.

The most important question first, how's you Bianchi ? Has the insurance replaced it with a new one ?

Then, how are you healing ?

Slave, stay off any bike dude!!!!

Luckily by the time I come past Meyersig you'll still be fast asleep.

Then I need to beat your time from 2009 by at least 7mins smiley36.gif

Kid, best you do beat my 2009 time. It could be a long lonely ride home if you don't.

So you planning to start Fast one at at around 5 am. I will be up and about by then. One way or another, I will try get to Meyersig. I have to rely on my personal taxi driver to get me around these days.

Not allowed to drive, pomp or ride a bike. Sometimes, life sucks.

Slave dude you may be up & about but that doesn't mean that you'll be awake.

I'm starting at 7am so it should take me about 15min to get to Meyersig.

The Bianchi is super fast as you know.

It'll take you about 15 minutes just to do the stretch from the bottom of the Lido hill to Klipriver road. Bianchi or not, you are not that fast, even with crapagnolo on it. smiley5.gif

If you are starting at 7, I should be there in plenty time to see you doddle past. I will be giving Mrs. R some tips on how to use the slingshot (catty) tonight so she can pepper you with a few marbles.smiley4.gif

I was training for and counting on myself to do that ride in 7 minutes les than last year. Until the minor mishap. smiley19.gif

NExt year, I will aim for a 4 hour slow one.

Andy, just make sure you have a milkshake ready for me when I arrive. That is if I don't arrive before you, if I do I'll have a bottle of whisky ready for you.
