What time will you finish this madness?

The cycling will start at dawn (05:15/30 ) and as I'll be doing it as an LSD ride' date=' should finish before high noon...

The day after I did the Berge en Dale I did this in 5:39 (125 HRavg)however coming weekend I'll do it a bit slower [img']https://assets.bikehub.co.za/legacy_images/smilies/smiley2.gif[/img] LSD and all that stuff you know...

Great smiley36.gif I'll be waiting with a high pressure hose and beer at the finish line smiley36.gif

If you wash my bike with a high pressure hose you will strip it completely, and relube and regrease every single part that needs grease and lube!smiley36.gif

Better get this book before you report for duty!

No man! Beer for me... High pressure hose for you! Not your bike! smiley36.gif

Carnival City race?

Kieran...dude your spoiling for trouble with the wrong guy here! Oxman's got a punch to back up those legs!

Anyone know if the guy who fell out south yesterday is ok?

Ok...so I'm gonna have a little moaning session here...

This morning on our 'long route' ride we had an unfortunate incident where a guy crashed and was rather badly injured. From the brief exam we did on the side of the road it looked that he had sustained a broken collarbone as well as lots of road rash. Now, when he crashed he did bring 2 other guys down with him, but both were fine and managed to get up and ride on....but when he crashed we were a bunch of approx 30guys?

Minutes later there were 4 of us left with the guy?

Guys, I know we all enjoy our morning rides, but when one of our fellow bikeys goes down lets make sure he gets all the assistance he needs. The whole, and I quote "I'm not an ambulance" mentality is quite scary.

We all meet up to ride together to be safe, but wont hang around to assist when someone needs help?

I'm a bit shocked to be honest.

Yesterday on the Alewynspoort road at the tail end of the bunch a guy went down after losing a tussle with a car. Look, I admit I was nowhere near the accident when it happened but from what I understand a couple people stopped to help him. Thats shocking.

Last week, on our long ride going into Henley an experienced rider fell on the gravel in the corner. The whole bunch (experienced riders) stopped en masse to ensure the guy was ok. Lets take a page out of this book. You never know when your gonna be the guy face down in the dirt and hoping someones going to stop and help.

I have one last thing to say...if you are nervous in a bunch, just dont try and mix it with a group...especially when they start going faster. Its a recipe for disaster...

oh, and when we meet up at Xumbugs dont be a dunce and just stand in the middle of the frigging slip lane. I had to tell people this morning that they were in the way, whats up with common sense?

Please guys, lets think about the safety of of us all...

Great race today, great to be feeling better again.

Felt much safer during the race than last year. Big up to the marshalls and all involved.

Sorry I missed you at the end Pred, had to dash - except it was a bit of a crawl to get out of Emperors afterwards.

Sincerely hope the fallen hero is ok.

Where did it happen Owl?

Seems Kieran is prepared to take on the world now!!!!!

Afraid, not much too share Ox, was good hard racing in the flat East.

Managed to finish with A bunch, in about 2:38, so it was all good. Felt remarkably well after the mudstuff of yesterday.

Worst was the fact that I wanted the race to end after 99 km's, but it didn't till 105.

GO, to prevent this from getting lost in the background chatter, I started a thread in the Cycling Safety Forum.

Hope you don't mind.
