Kieran, dude, if you carry on doing 65 km a day, pretty soon you'll be in Cape Town.

Sadly, I've had very few KM on the bike this past week. And my car is still dirty. WTF is it with this very unseasonal rain?

Too dark, too cold to get up earlier Kid. Besides, I go to bed too late.

And no, I didn't do any dancing never mind rain dances.

See the boys are trying to play cricket again. Must be the reason for the rain, although they need it over there, not here.

Someone go ustairs and move the clouds for a while.

So I got in a good ride this AM. Commuted from Alberton To Melrose Arch.smiley5.gif

By far my longest ride in many months. I feel like I need a three hour nap though. Yesterday it took me 2hrs 10 min by car. Today, 1 hhr 35 min by bike.

Not looking forward to the climb up the PArktown Ridge this arvie. Or the commute in tomorrow.

How so? You see me on the road or some junk? <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Means you must be getting up a little later?<?: prefix = v ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml" /> smiley17.gif

Had another freaking mishap yesterday. smiley7.gifSome <?: prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Doris in a Camry knocked me off the bike in Houghton. Her left hand side wing mirror clipped the handle bars and took me down. Got some road rash and my right hip hurts like a beach. Nice roastie on my right elbow too. smiley18.gif

Heard somewhere that it takes 7 crashes for one to graduate to becoming a real cyclist. Won't ever get there. One more fall and I stop this playing with bicycles. smiley19.gif

Yip, going to do what I said last year after 94.7 and ride a social one. Just waiting for my sponsor to confirm my place in the social team. Looking forward to a nice leisurely ride around JHB and Sandotn.

It's going to be a blast.smiley4.gif

So like is there some kind of competition between ha-ha and Andy to see who can become the next hill climber?

Hi Slave - glad to see you're back, sorry you had another fall.

1:35 Alberton to Melrose Arch? Thats a long slog uphill but still quite slow for you?

You taking a roundabout route or is the traffic holding you back?

Yip I spotted you in the dark smiley2.gif

No not again, were you tired and wanted to take a lie down ?

Here's some advise I got from a friend, come over to my place and fall over another 5 times on the grass, then you've graduated.

As in a social 94.7 you mean a 2:30 94.7 ?

That's a good goal, you'll manage it if you stay on the bike.

No competition, Ha Ha will win hands down, it seems Andy has given up cycling. smiley19.gif

Hey Joe Slow. Nice to see you again.smiley4.gif

It was a bit slow but then I am stuggling to get fit again. Going uphill (Specially butchers) is like realy, realy slow.

Also stopping at all the traffic lights is a bit tedious. Safe, but tedious. Tends to slow one down a fraction.  The route was a bit roundabut yesterday AM, Up butchers, and then Eloff Extention, Rissik,Oxford and then ot went kinda pear shaped since I go a little lost with all the new detours, Had to ride on a few pavements, then went down past Wanderers on Corlett. But yeah, I'm a lot slower now. Only been back on the bike a couple weeks.

KId, Yeah I was tired and def wanted to take a three day nap, but like the road's a bit hard. Prefer to lie down on a soft comfy bed.

So you doing a 2hr30 94.7 challenge this year. You go for it dude. Nice goal. Hope you make it. I'm sort of looking at 4 to 4,5 hours myself.

Sorry to hear of your mishap Slave! Hope you healed up quickly!

Nope, no competition. Ha Ha and I have formed a team for Panorama Tour next April! Two climbers in a team so it is going to be awesome!!

Andy I thought you were teaming up with Trubie ???

BTW in order to be a cyclists (never mind a climber) you have to ride a bike.

Negotiations got nowhere. One message to Ha Ha and it was a done deal! Besides, I am not a VET yet so can't ride with Trubie. You can though!

Eina Kid. That had to hurt. You going to just sit there and take it from these young ones?

In my day, young uns repected their elders. Pity they dont have like a Vet, Vet classification for doddery old farts like me.

In running, you get Vets, Masters and then when you really old (like the Kid) you become a grand-master.
