The cold came to pay a visit and then all this soccer so I rested :D

Should be back on the bike on Saturday, you wanna take a ride with the group to Bosco & back ?

Ok, so I been doing a fair bit of riding the past two months. Last week, with the cold weather, I got a bit soft and got a life to work like three days or so.

Then on Saturday, I did the commute thing for fun and to get to the office.

When I began commuting, I was doing 1hr 38 to get to Melrose. Got that down below 1hr 28 just last week and then a 1:24 on Saturday. Seems like the bar has been readjusted and the fitess is starting to come back.

Yeeeeeeehaaaaaa.

Oh and I was getting homein about 1:20 before and now battling to break 1:12. Tryin hard though. Got to happen one day soon.

An all the time saving is coming from the hills. I have slowed it down going downhill for a numberof reasons.

I did greet you back, I assume the frost on yr glasses was more severe than you thought.

You need a pait of toecaps, its cheap. Another tip for them toes are to wear a plastic bag (such as jiffy bag) over your sock.

It certainly helps a lot, just take another pair of socks....

Not so much the frost on the specs as the eyeballs were probably frozen.

I have a pair of army socks that I wear on cold days that work quite well.

Will think abuot toe caps when the cash-flow imporves significantly. :(

Slave, you cycle to work on a Saturday for fun ?

Now you really need help.

Nothing new to me dude. Tried therapy once and the shrink told me that reading my head was a very short story.

I had an appintment with a client so I decided to commute for fun. Left home when it was much warmer so I had made the appintment a bit later in the am.

PArking around this place is very hard to come by unless you have nega bucks. (70 Ronds a day. )

So commuting is the only wy right now. Saves time, petrol and parking issues sorted. :)

Slave, you should have just stayed working in the souff. Now you think you cooler as eke by werking in the norff so karma has found you :P

Not true kid. At least if I was still at Broken City, I would have been able to walk to work. :)

Now I have to ride 35 km in the cold and then ride similar distance home again.

It does have advantages being on a bike though. On the way home, I go passt Ellis park and the road closure has not affected me at all. They are so busy directing cars that they ignore me completely and I just zip through. B)

It was rather frosty this morning. Sheesh may hands got really cold. I think I have oneof those coming on. (A cold id by dose.) I battled to ride home yesterday with next to zero energy. This morning was little better, but I used all the easy gears.

Ha Ha, haven't ridden jack this weekend, got early symptoms of the flu so skipped this weekend. Kid went riding says their is something wrong with his bike! (I think its the effects of being off)

How's your hand doing?

So you are managing with 53/39 chain rings ???

Well at least now you getting fitter every day.

Strangely enough, I am not finding it an issue at the moment. (Chain ring that is.) B)

Yep, getting fitter but I had the sniffs and sneezes yesterday and woke up with sore throat this morning. :(

I hope this is not the harbinger f more to come. It has been a few years since I was last off work due to illness so in the scheme of things, I guess I am about due. Actually, just thinking back, I was off work in January last year with Bronchitis (3 days) so my quota is used up. It's not time to get sick.

I will be rather p1ssed if I am getting sick. Not only will I have to take second rate transport to work (I.e get a lift in a car) but my fitness level will drop a bit. Fortunately, not as much as when I was forced to stay off the bike earlier this year.

Being sick sucks.

So, who did what this weekend? Kid, you still doing base? Kieran, how is that hand coming along?

HB, you got ant results from all those exams you were "Studying" for?

Slave, I was off the bike for one week. Got back on this Saturday.

Rode Saturday & Sunday but my legs feel very heavy, maybe there is something wrong with the bike, it's battling (more than usual) to go up hills.

Skipping that week means my program is a little messed up, so I'm doing a combination of base, medium & high. My plan is just to get to where I was and then go from there.

You wanna go for a ride ???

Sat I sat out and did buggerall. Rather opted to go run some errands and spend money i didnt have. Was nice but by afternoon I started getting agitated etc.. My kids begged me to go riding yesterday:(

Did SBR in the wind, some places up to 62k's/h... not a very enjoyable ride, but I'm sure it was worth it.

Easy week this for me, and I might be racing in Kimberley on saturday - 120k's...

Fortunately the weather is MUCH better this week!!!
