I get what you're saying Andy, but the kid is kinda out of my league now, having been upgraded to the A bunch and all. Yet I am still terrified to ride with hime because he keeps on about some tow rope or some junk.

Like he keeps wanting me to tow him when it should be the other way around.

This ASGR team is doing well, Trubie winning his class and Kid in the A bunch. Looks like I will be the odd one out anytime soon. Maybe I need to go and play with children my own age. (Those bowls are looking good suddenly.)

I mentioned the towing idea to Trubie this morning & he looked at me as if I had lost my mind.

Trubie wouldn't even feel the extra weight, he's such a machine.

Slave, last year I started training for the 94.7 in August & still managed a reasonable time considering I started right at the back, so you still have time to get yourself super fit. Besides you'll be riding a fast bike, that bike made many appearances in the A bunch.

Slave, with all due respect, you are starting to talk as much rubbish as the Kid does! You already have some sort of a base from the commuting to build on. It is getting lighter earlier and darker later and soon it will be warmer and warmer. Keep up the commuting and increase the distance a bit. Then do some longer rides over the weekend. A few weeks of that and you will be ready to go like a rocket to the the moon.

Kid has done what you always said and has been committed to his training. He is now reaping the rewards of that with an A bunch start for Carousel. He wouldn't have got that if he didn't have that ability so I don't know what he is moaning about. Only difference is that the race will be a bit faster but since he has trained well he should have no worries in that department.

Kid, you in A now. Use the opportunity to learn how racing in A is and gain the experience from it. In my opinion the riders in A ride a much safer race than the lower groups. It is a great opportunity to gain fabulous experience and have so fun. Closest you will get to experiencing pro style racing.

Kid. Only your jokes make people suffer. Otherwise they are very funny.

This A group thing is hilarious.

Andy, since I leave home at around 06h45 every morning, I have noticed two things. Yes, it is getting lighter earler and it is starting to warm up as well. And Since I get home at around 15h45 every day, I have also noticed that the skies are getting dark later.

I also discovered that the real distance is about 30 km each way. So,commuting 5 days a week = 300 km per week. I can barely manage to find the energy for that, let alone increasing my distance and riding on weekends.

Unlike Trubie and Kid, I'm not a machine. Been off the bike for a few weeks now so at least my petrol tank (boep) has filled up again. Tomorrow I am cycling to the office and Friday I'm leaving early to go to Mica for the weekend. So I plan to ride home just as fast as I can get my legs to pump that bike.

Funny thing happened to me last week. I got hold of a 400 Suzuki I was thinking of buying. Less that 10km into my ride, I was pulled over by Metro in the city centre.

"You need a licence to ride this thing" (Ehhh, seh, you nid a lie-sense foh dis teeng.)

"Oh, really", I say. I ride a bicycle as well and I don't have a licence for that."

"Ehh, bart the bi-seekill, she is not a motto bike. She's nort hevving the en-jeen"

"OF course it does", I reply. "It has a two stroke engine. One stroke up and one stroke down."

"Eish. Where is your li seens""

I though it was hysterical, but apparently the humour was lost on him. I showed him my lie-seens anyway and then proceeded on my way, wondering what he would have said if I said it was a 250. 2 wheels, fifty spokes.

Tell the truth, I did 150 km that day and was more sore after that than if I had ridden my bike to and from the ofice.

Looking forward to my commutes for the next few days. From next week, I will be commuting a lot more.

I hope y'all have a wonderful and safe cycling long weekend. Good racing and all that sort of thing, I say what's what old boys.

Slave, I'm glad you see the funny side for me being in A.

somehow Trubie & Andy think that it's great - crazy nutters

Then just to clarify, Trubie is the machine.

BTW you going to go spend an entire weekend at the hardware (MICA) ???

Builders Warehouse is much better.

Yip, the whole weekend in the Hardware.

Maybe I should rethink it and spend half at the harware and half at builders.

Maybe you should attempt to spend some time on the "machine"

Well, the weekend in the hardware store was pretty good. Since I was last there, the place has been converted to a private gamereserve and upgraded the roads.

Could not help thinking while driving there on Friday how lekker it would have been to have had a MTB.

So how was the race yesterday? Anyone have any comments on it. KId, did you survive A bunch?

Andy, SBR is not in my immediate list of places to go anytime soon. Basically, I am waiting patiently for the weather to warm up a bit before I get back to commuting every day again. Once that happens and I get back to 300km a week, there will be little left for SBR rideson weekends.

Slave, eish the hardware became a game reserve with lots of animals, you must have been seriously surprised.

I never raced yesterday nor have I done any exercise is the last week.

I've been in sick bay

So now when I eventually get back on the bike I have to start from scratch AGAIN!!
